One day I found out I was infertile, and that my husband was cheating on me with my friend. I gently told him I’d stopped taking birth control pills for health reasons, and I placed on the nightstand a huge vase of condoms—supposedly for us—having secretly poked holes in them with a fine needle so no one would notice.
