‼️ Researchers found cheap Android phones are being shipped with malware preinstalled in their firmware, from Doogee- and Cubot-branded models to fake Galaxy S25 Ultras.
It switches off the Play Store and silently installs ad-fraud and proxy apps. Owners cannot uninstall it.

Edward Dubrovsky, 54, co-founder of Canadian firm CYPFER, was arrested in Pennsylvania on 8 October.

He is a Canadian citizen arrested in Pennsylvania and considered a primary co-conspirator, NYT reports.
The FBI blames the hack on a contractor who skipped a security patch.

Adem El Adeb, alias Pryx, told Reuters he called Saif al-Din Khader (Rey) "suicidal" and "crazy".
