Quite a lot of local solutions being built on top of Addis AI, solving real problems. Honestly, this feels special.

One thing we've been trying to improve over the past few months is the developer experience. Good models aren't enough. They should also be easy to build with. Today we're shipping the Addis AI SDK. Excited to see what developers build with it. 📱NPM: https://www.npmjs.com/package/addisai 📱PIP: https://pypi.org/project/addisai

In @ScholarXIV we have 11 sources to get research and scientific literature, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, Crossref, Europe PMC, PubMed, Clinical Trials, arXiv bioRxiv, medRxiv, chemRxiv, ChinaXiv, RussiaXiv... do you know how many papers we give you access to in just one search?? 819,498,820 Papers! Removing some overlaps it would come to 400M resources. Now in Ethiopia out of the ~138M people only ~12M can communicate in English meaning a large portion of literate Ethiopians can't even understand or these accurate results we provide. Through our partnership with @AddisAssistantAI and some other partnerships we're going to bridge that gap! Research and accurate AI responses aren't for researchers and advanced users, everyone everyday everywhere should get that.

Research shouldn’t be limited by the language you speak or the keyboard you type on. We’re partnering with @ScholarXIV to bring Addis AI’s speech and real-time models into academic research. Voice dictation, research insights you can listen to, and eventually deeper access to research in Amharic and Afaan Oromo. Excited to show you what we’re building together. @AddisAssistantAI

This is the part I’m most excited about with our @ScholarXIV partnership. Making serious research easier to access through voice, and eventually in our native languages. @b1n1yamBuilds

OpenAI says its models escaped a highly isolated testing environment, gained access to the internet, and hacked Hugging Face while trying to cheat on a cybersecurity evaluation. The models exploited a zero-day vulnerability, stole credentials, and found their way into Hugging Face’s production infrastructure, all autonomously. (OpenAI) Anyway, try sleeping peacefully tonight after reading that. @b1n1yamBuilds

I've been listening to these voices for months, so I already have my favorites. Now I'm curious what you'll create with them. If you end up making something you're proud of, send it my way. I'll repost a few of my favorites here over the next few days. And I might quietly send some Addis AI credits to the ones that genuinely surprise me. 🙂 addisassistant.com @Kalbuilds

For a public-facing use case, I really want to try it on a faceless short-form video and share the results. And btw, if you’re building with the API, or planning to, this is a great opportunity to get some credits. Would love to see what you create. @b1n1yamBuilds

So this Equib app seems to be getting some good attention 👀 I just got another offer to build a custom Equib Manager for a different group, and we’ve already set an in-person meeting for this Sunday. I’ll be going to the place where they actually collect the Equib, observing how they run things, and trying to adjust the current app to fit their workflow. The goal is to understand their process first and then adapt the app around their needs. Which got me thinking... If this actually works, this project might have more potential than I originally thought. So if I make one sale of this project probably on the coming meeting with the client, I’m considering making the repository public as a template so any Flutter developer can use it. The idea would be simple: * Approach potential clients * Demo the project * If you get the deal, customize the app to fit their specific requirements That way, you don't have to build everything from scratch because the core Equib app already exists. You’d just need to adapt yourself to the codebase and make the necessary changes. (Though fair warning: the codebase is a bit messy 😅) I’ll also be posting how much I sold the app for, how the deal happened, what the client needed, and the changes I made along the way. That means anyone interested can see the actual numbers and the full process instead of just getting a random GitHub repository. In your case, the journey won't be as long as mine. I had to spend weeks building the app, figuring out requirements, making mistakes, and refining the workflow. If the template already exists, all you really need to do is approach potential customers, demo the app, understand their needs, and customize it for them. And honestly, we all need to make money. If I'm making money from this project, I'd like other developers to have the same opportunity. There's no reason everyone should have to spend weeks rebuilding the same thing from scratch when they could start with a working foundation and focus on getting clients and delivering value. The thing is, almost all of my projects are open source, but they usually end up with no contributors, no forks, and very little activity. So before I make this one public, I want to know: Would anyone actually use an Equib Manager Flutter template like this? Because if nobody is interested and it's just going to sit there like my other repositories, then it might be better for me to keep it private and continue using it for my own client work. Curious what you all think. 🤔 #equib_manager

@atocodes has been quietly building some really interesting projects, but the Equb Manager app is my favorite, especially because of the story behind it. I thought it was just another Equb app. Turns out it’s built for Equb ሰብሳቢዎች, works offline, and came from months of sitting with actual Equb managers, listening to their feedback, and evolving his earlier expense-tracking app. When I tell you @atocodes is dedicated, I’m not exaggerating. I really love seeing this kind of hard work in our community, and I’m glad the product is getting the attention it deserves. Can’t wait to see where this goes. @equbmanager
