This is actually a great question. You aren't bound to a single thing just because you're learning it, your purpose isn't locked in by what you learn (much to what some preach). You can learn it and if need be use it but if you have interests outside of coding, then why don't you go ahead and pursue it the best way you can? You don't have to be trapped by something you don't like and live a miserable life as you start to get older, be your best friend and pursue what you love,. Fail, get back up and make it no matter what it takes. Personally I thought coding wasn't for me until I started and things started clicking for me, although I am not so gung ho about coding. Coding helps get your problem solving skills up which I think will help you with tackling the things you do like in life. Who knows I might quit and pursue something else, something that gives me purpose. TL;DR: Go for your interests, enjoy it and get your bread, your interests won't feel like work and will be closer to what your purpose is
