🚧 Phase Two Has Begun 🚧 The old floor panels have been removed, and the space is now being prepared for painting as we continue the renovations at Markaz ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān. Based on the quotes and estimates we have received so far, we are setting an estimated Phase Two fundraising goal of $12,500. This phase will cover painting, new carpet and installation for both musallās, new baseboards and trim, a new door between the brothers’ and sisters’ musallā areas, and the remaining finishing work needed for this stage. The brothers will be handling the painting themselves, alḥamdulillāh, which will help us save significantly on labor. We hope to raise the needed amount as soon as possible so the work can continue without unnecessary delays and we can stay on track toward opening, in shāʾ Allāh. 🚧 The Renovations Have Begun! 🚧 Alḥamdulillāh, the first phase of renovations for Markaz ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān has begun as we prepare to open the center to the public. Our first project is to relocate the existing wall that divides the brothers’ and sisters’ musallā areas. The current placement of the wall does not provide enough space for the brothers, especially for Jumuʿah, seminars, and larger gatherings. Moving it will provide the additional space needed while maintaining a dedicated and private musallā for the sisters. The total cost of this first phase is $7,500. ‎The Lasting Influence of Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah’s Writings ‎Al-ʿAllāmah Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ ibn ʿUthaymīn (d. 1421 AH) said: ‎“This is among the blessings of Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 728 AH), for his writings have an effect upon the Ummah. Alḥamdulillāh, by the grace and favor of Allāh, Markaz ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān has officially secured and signed a lease for a dedicated space in the Tampa Bay area. This is a tremendous milestone and an important step toward establishing a markaz and daʿwah center dedicated to the worship of Allāh and the teaching of Islām according to the Qur’an, the authentic Sunnah, and the understanding of the Salaf al-Ṣāliḥ. By the permission of Allāh, the markaz consists of two adjoining units - one designated for brothers and one for sisters - allowing the community to benefit from the facilities while maintaining appropriate accommodations for both. Bi’idhnillāh, this markaz will serve the community through: • Daily prayers and Jumuʿah • Classes and seminars • Educational programs • Community reminders • A place where beneficial knowledge is taught and the Sunnah is propagated While securing the location is a huge blessing, our work has only just begun. The facility now needs renovations, furnishings, prayer accommodations, equipment, and other essential preparations before we can open the doors to the community.
