So, I was just minding my own business, thinking about quantum physics, when suddenly my brain went, “Hey, what if your parallel self isn’t really you? What even makes ‘you’… you?” And now I couldn't sleep. 😵‍💫 I watched Everything Everywhere All At Once to grasp superposition and the multiverse, but instead, I ended up spiraling into a Ship of Theseus style identity crisis. 🚢 If every part of a ship gets replaced, is it still the same ship? Now, what if you get replaced your thoughts, your choices, even your memories—across universes? Is that still you or just another person with your face? 👀 So here’s my midnight brain glitch: If my parallel self has a different personality, made different choices, and remembers a totally different life… are we still the same person? Or is that just some stranger cosplaying as “me”? And if they do remember being me, but their memories are slightly different, at what point do they stop being me and start being them? 🤯 Basically: Which “me” am I? And how many versions of me exist? Ngl, quantum identity & immortality are equal parts fascinating and terrifying, and now I can’t focus on anything else. suggest me some books & articles that will either fix or worsen this crisis😭
