The gravity of this situation is underscored by developments in the same case: · On July 19, 2026, two co‑defendants – Gol‑Mohammad Mohammadi and Erfan Esfandiari – were executed. · On July 21, 2026, Mr. Dashti’s family was informed that they should come to the prison for a final visit – a practice that invariably precedes execution. We urgently call upon you to demonstrate immediate action and response by: 1. Publicly condemning the imminent execution of Ali Dashti and his co‑defendants, and calling on Iranian authorities to halt all execution procedures immediately. 2. Using every parliamentary and diplomatic channel at your disposal – including direct engagement with the Iranian mission to the EU, statements in plenary sessions, and coordination with the European External Action Service – to intervene without delay. 3. Demanding that Iranian authorities ensure full transparency and due process, and that any legal proceedings against Mr. Dashti comply rigorously with international human rights standards, particularly regarding the prohibition of torture and the right to a fair trial. 4. Coordinating with fellow MEPs to table an emergency resolution or joint statement on this case. Nima Araban, a 17-year-old teenager and one of the detainees from the December 2025 protests in Nain, Isfahan, has been sentenced to two death penalties and one year in prison by the branch handling the case presided over by Morteza Barati. According to published information, his case has been sent to the Supreme Court for appeal. Nima Araban is one of the defendants in the same case that previously led to the issuance and execution of the death sentence for Abbas Akbari Feyz-Abadi.
