The TON community has officially voted to rename Toncoin (TON) to Gram (GRAM).
The proposal passed with over 81% support and the change will take effect on June 15, 2026.
Before you panic or start looking for a conversion button, here's what you need to know:
✅ TON Blockchain is NOT changing
The network will still be called The Open Network (TON).
Only the native token's name and ticker are changing:
Toncoin (TON) ➜ Gram (GRAM)
✅ You don't need to do anything
No swap.
No migration.
No bridge.
No claim.
Your wallet balance remains exactly the same.
If you have 100 TON today, you'll simply see 100 GRAM after the update.
✅ Nothing else changes
• Wallet addresses remain valid
• Staking remains active
• NFTs remain untouched

There are two major reasons.

Strategy disclosed a purchase of 1,550 BTC for $101 million at an average price of $65,332 per coin. The buy came shortly after the company sold 32 BTC for $2.5 million, a move that sparked concerns about liquidity and funding pressure.
The purchase was almost 48x larger than the sale. It also came at a price well below the $77,135 average sale price and below Strategy's reported cost basis. At the same time, the company rebuilt its cash reserve to $1 billion after it had fallen to around $900 million.
The important detail is how the purchase was funded. Strategy raised $181 million through newly issued shares and used that capital for Bitcoin purchases and reserve funding. The Bitcoin sale itself was not the source of the cash.
The model remains the same: issue equity, raise capital, buy more Bitcoin. The debate is shifting from whether Strategy will sell BTC to how much dilution each new purchase requires.
