He was on Alvarado Lake celebrating the 4th with his 12-year-old daughter Emilie when people started screaming and waving them down.
A boat carrying NINE people had flipped and THREE children were trapped underneath it.
Jason immediately dove in to rescue them.
Under that boat, he found a little boy, he saved him, and then dove back in.
He felt a foot, it was a little girl and Jason tore her loose and brought her back, but she did not have a pulse.
He dragged her ON TOP OF THE CAPSIZED BOAT and performed CPR until she began breathing again.
He and others then flipped the boat and found a little boy with anchor rope WRAPPED AROUND HIS BODY.
The boy also did not have a pulse, he performed CPR on the boy until he got a pulse.
Astonishingly, ALL THREE KIDS SURVIVED!!!!
Every single one went home to their families.
His department said it best: "When others needed help most, Jason did what firefighters do. He stepped up without hesitation."
A 12-year-old girl sat in that boat and watched her father dive into a lake and come back up carrying other people's children.
She will spend the rest of her life knowing EXACTLY what a hero looks like.
He looks like her dad.

In January, someone stole $46 million from the U.S. Marshals Service crypto custody system. The system the government uses to hold seized Bitcoin the same Bitcoin that feeds the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve was compromised. Millions vanished.
That breach answered a question nobody was asking publicly but everybody inside the building was worried about: is the vault secure enough to hold a sovereign reserve?
The answer was no.
Now the USMS has signed a custody agreement with Coinbase Prime the institutional-grade platform built for organizations that hold billions in digital assets. Cold storage. Insurance. SOC compliance. Auditable infrastructure. The kind of vault you build when the contents are a matter of national security.
Here's why this matters beyond the headline.
The government stopped auctioning seized Bitcoin around 2018. For seven years, every forfeiture added to a growing pile that nobody was selling. Individual X 69,370 BTC, held four years, never auctioned. Zhong 50,676 BTC, held three years, never auctioned. Bitfinex 94,636 BTC, held and pending. The government accumulated over 200,000 Bitcoin and sold none of it.
In March 2025, the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve executive order made it official — seized Bitcoin is a sovereign asset, not evidence to be liquidated. Bessent confirmed it publicly: "Policy of this government is to add seized Bitcoin to the reserve."
But you can't run a sovereign reserve on infrastructure that just got robbed. The $46 million breach proved the old system was broken. Every seizure going forward the Strike Force processing $480 million in 90 days through civil forfeiture, the Prince Group's 127,271 BTC, every future designation from the PRC OTC wave or the cartel crypto pipeline all of it needs a vault that can't be cracked.
Coinbase Prime is that vault.
And there's a second problem this solves. Right now, seized Bitcoin is fragmented across three agencies under competing legal authorities. DOJ holds some. IRS holds some. USMS holds some. Treasury and Commerce are in a jurisdictional dispute over who controls the unified reserve a dispute that's been escalated to the DOJ Office of Legal Counsel for mediation.
Moving the assets to an external institutional platform changes the nature of the dispute. The question stops being "whose servers hold the private keys" and becomes "who has access rights to the shared custody account." That's a governance question, not a technical one. Easier to resolve. Faster to implement. And the assets are secure while the lawyers work it out.
The deep research documented the choreography: install the vault, accelerate the pipeline. The $46 million breach proved the old vault needed replacing. Coinbase Prime is the replacement. Once it's operational, the pipeline opens wider every new seizure flows directly into institutional-grade custody that can handle sovereign-scale assets.
The enforcement pipeline didn't slow down after the vault was built. It opened wider. Chen Zhi $15 billion. Strike Force $480 million in 90 days. Huione severed from the financial system. 134 ISIS-K wallets frozen. CoinEx $3.84 billion illuminated. PCC $30 million designated and Brazil froze $2 billion two days later.
The pipeline is running. The legislation is moving ARMA would lock the reserve for 20 years with proof-of-reserve requirements. The GENIUS Act and CLARITY Act are being codified. And now the vault itself is being upgraded from a government server that got hacked to an institutional-grade custody platform built to hold sovereign assets.
You can't run the endgame until the vault is secure. The vault is being secured. The pipeline is accelerating. And every seizure from here forward flows into a system designed to hold it permanently.
