| 8 | SAT Day Checklist
1. The Night Before
Prepare these items:
• Admission ticket (printed or saved on phone if allowed)
• Passport or national ID (must match registration name)
• Fully charged laptop (for Digital SAT)
• Laptop charger
• Approved calculator (even though most math allows Desmos)
• 2 pencils / pen (for notes or scratch paper)
• Small snack (protein bar, nuts)
• Water bottle
• Light jacket (rooms can be cold)
Do NOT:
• Study new material
• Sleep late
• Eat heavy junk food
Goal: 7–8 hours sleep.
2. Morning of the Test
Eat a stable breakfast
You want slow energy, not sugar crash.
Good examples:
• Eggs + bread
• Oatmeal
• Banana + peanut butter
• Yogurt + nuts
Avoid:
• Sugary drinks
• Very heavy oily food
3. Arrival Strategy
Arrive 30–40 minutes early.
Why? Because if you’re late, the proctor can deny entry.
Typical process:
1. Check-in
2. ID verification
3. Device check
4. Seating

On the Bluebook app:
Before test day you must:
• Download the app
• Sign in
• Complete device setup
• Install test preview
If you come without the setup done, you waste time and panic.
5. During the Test: Golden Rules
Rule 1 — Time discipline
• Don’t marry a question.
• If stuck >30 seconds, flag and move.
Rule 2 — Module awareness
Second modules adapt difficulty.
Strong first module = harder second module.
Rule 3 — Guess intelligently
Never leave blank.
Rule 4 — Use Desmos aggressively
The built-in graphing calculator saves huge time.
6. Break Strategy
During the break:
• Drink water
• Eat a small snack
• Stretch
• Do NOT discuss questions with others
Why? It destroys confidence and focus.
7. Mental Framework
Top scorers treat it like a controlled performance.
Mindset:
• Some questions will look impossible.
• Everyone in the room struggles.
• Stay calm and keep moving.

Many students do endless practice and still score low, and most of them share one problem they don't like to admit: they struggle with Module 2 reading passages. If that sounds like you, there's no shortcut. Read challenging English every day: articles, books, even poetry. Keep going until SAT passages feel easier than they ever have.
