Current Profile: Designation: Junior Engineer (JE) in Military Engineering Services (MES) — Pay Level 6 Posting: Currently posted ~1,000 km away from my hometown. Transfer Policy: Job is transferable every 3–4 years. Zone Constraints: Until promotion (which takes roughly 10–12 years), transfers will remain within my allocated zone (Zone spanning 1,000–1,200 km from my hometown) (20-22 offices location in the vicinity of my Home town , overnight journey (10-12hr) Post-Promotion: Upon promotion, it becomes an All-India Service liability. Alternative Option: Designation: Tax Assistant (TA) in CGST (CBIC) — Pay Level 4 Posting: Direct posting in my Home State Which is better? In my current MES JE posting, the overall workload and official pressure are relatively low, and I have sufficient time after office hours to dedicate to studies. This routine is expected to remain consistent throughout my tenure at this station.( Around 3 years) My primary long-term goal is to prepare for the State Public Service Commission (PCS) examinations.

Question: Need Advice on Seniority Dispute: Lower AIR Ranked Above Me Due to Joining Date / Technical Resignation Hi everyone, I need advice regarding a seniority issue in my department following my appointment through SSC CGL. Here are the details of the case: a ) My Merit Rank: AIR ~2000 (Unreserved, Fresh Appointment, male). b)  Colleague’s Merit Rank: AIR 3600+ (Unreserved, Joined after Technical Resignation from her previous government department, female). c ) Joining Timeline: She joined the department ~6 months before me because my appointment process was delayed due to administrative reasons. The issue-- Our department received a nomination list from SSC where she is listed at S. No. 1 and I am at S. No. 2, although our AIRs were also in the list. The department is currently planning to fix our seniority based on this list (placing her senior to me) because i am at S. No. 2. However, they have given me the option to either: 1. Submit an official representation to the department after i receive the chance to do so. or, 2. Request SSC to review and revise the list and give it back to dept. My question ---- --As per DoPT guidelines and SSC rules, does merit rank (AIR) take precedence over joining date/technical resignation when candidates are selected from the same CGL batch/exam? --Does a candidate’s past service/technical resignation/gender alter their relative merit position in a new exam batch? --What is the standard procedure to file a representation in such cases, and what specific DoPT rules/OMs should I cite to protect my seniority? Any guidance, relevant OMs, or precedent cases on this would be greatly appreciated!

Now, another department has advertised for level 11 post. as per advertisement, i fulfill all educational and experience qualification in level 10. please guide whether i can apply for the level 11 post while serving in level 10 on deputation. the last date for submission is nearby.
