Writing: 1) start with task 2 it carries more weight. You dont have to erase if you make a mistake. Just use mistake. Do it in a neat way though. 2) Give your opinion in the intro. Dont save it till the end. You might not finish the essay. 3) there is no penalty for writing more than 250 or 300 or any number. There is no limit. 4) dont waste time counting your words! That’s stupid. If you decently develop your essay, there will be around 270 words. You dont have to count them. 5) leave time for proofreading. Finish both tasks in 50 minutes(if you can) and then spend 10 minutes reviewing your work. Mistakes to look out for: A) subject-verb agreement: one of the advantages ARE B) spelling errors These can limit your score to just 6 or 6.5, so beware!

Reading: 1) aim for finishing 40 questions in 45 minutes. That means if there are some questions that are challenging, skip them. You’ll come back to them once you have seen all the questions. Imagine you have 3 very difficult questions in passage 2 and if you spend a lot of time on these, you are likely to run out of time before you get to very easy questions in passage 3. So skip them. 2) deal with paragraphs separately not question types. In passage 2 and 3 and sometimes in passage 1 too, there will be answers to 2 or 3 or even more questions in one paragraph. For example, one answer to T/F/Ng, another to matching headings and another to summary completion all of them may be in the same paragraph. So find answers to all of them at the same time. Dont think you finish TFN first then headings, then summary. This will take forever. You dont have that. So, do questions in a parallel way. 3. I recommend copying your answers to the answer sheet one passage at a time. Dont write your answers directly on the answer sheet because this is confusing and sometimes you change your mind several times before deciding. YOU DONT HAVE TO USE CAPITAL LETTERS AS LONG AS YOUR WRITING IS LEGIBLE(READABLE ENOUGH) writing in capital letters is time consuming. Use your normal writing.

Here’s some tips before your exam tomorrow. Listening: 1) read ahead. At the end of each section you will be given time to check your answers. Dont. Instead, Move to the next section and you will have more time to analyze the questions. 2) dont be stuck in the past. If you miss a question, dont panic. You dont have to remember it on the spot. Forget about that question and keep doing the rest of the task. 3) make smart guesses. If you hear the some of the words exactly like they appear in the options (in multiple choice or matching tasks), 90% of the time these options are not the correct one. For example, if the option C has the word ‘expensive’ in it and you hear the word expensive(not the paraphrase) in the recording, it’s not the correct answer. This can help you eliminate the options. 4) try to predict in part 1 and 4. Use your logic and expect at least the type of word you need to write.

What kind of movies do you enjoy watching? I’m really into action and psychological thriller movies because they keep me completely focused from beginning to end. I also enjoy comedy films when I just want to relax and switch off after a long day. If a movie has a strong storyline and interesting characters, I can watch it for hours without getting bored. How often do you watch movies? Honestly, probably two or three times a week. It depends on how busy I am with studying or work, but I usually watch something at night. For me, movies are one of the best ways to unwind and escape from reality for a little while. Do you prefer watching movies at home or in the cinema? Why? I’d say both, but if I had to choose, probably the cinema. Watching a movie on a huge screen with loud sound effects just feels way more exciting and immersive. That being said, staying at home in comfortable clothes with snacks is also hard to beat. What was the last movie you watched? The last movie I watched was Interstellar. Even though it’s not a new movie, I absolutely loved it. The visuals were incredible, and the story really made me think deeply about time, family, and space. I was honestly speechless after finishing it. Do you like watching foreign movies? Why or why not? Yeah, definitely. I think foreign movies are a great way to learn about different cultures and ways of thinking. Sometimes Hollywood movies can feel a bit predictable, but international films often have unique storylines and emotional depth that make them unforgettable. Is watching movies a popular activity in your country? Absolutely. A lot of people watch movies regularly, especially young people. Streaming platforms have become really popular, so now people can watch films anytime they want. Going to the cinema with friends is also quite common, especially when a big new movie is released. Have your movie preferences changed since you were a child? For sure. When I was a kid, I mainly watched cartoons and superhero movies because they were fun and easy to follow. But now I prefer films with deeper meanings, clever dialogue, and emotional stories. I still enjoy fun movies sometimes, but my taste has definitely become more mature over time.
