بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم A moment of reflection took me back to: Friday: 01/11/13 - 27/12/34 The last day our brother Abū Mu’āwiyah Mustafa Al-Amrīkī rahimahullāh was seen alive. This was the third of three days where the Houthi rebels intensified their attack on Dār Al-Hadīth, Dammāj. I remember this day and the two before it very well. What I remember about this Friday was getting ready for Jumu’ah (which was being prayed in the basement of the masjid). As I and a few brothers were making our way to the basement of the masjid via the masjid, we came under attack. This was the first day I recall the masjid being hit. A few brothers were injured and we had to seek shelter. After Jumu’ah, brothers were gathering in groups and being dispatched to different stations. From the brothers who I saw in amongst the first group being dispatched, was our dear brother Mustafa rahimahullāh, a beautiful brother and caller to Allāh. He was someone who sacrificed his life for the sake of Allāh, calling to His religion and eventually died defending it, after being guided to Islām. He was killed under circumstances where his body could not be retrieved until we evacuated dammaj, some 3 months after the day he was killed. I will always remember the last conversation I had with him. May Allāh grant him Al-Firdaws, elevate his rank and make him from the martyrs.
