Al-Khattabi rahimahu’Allah mentioned in Gharīb al-Hadith (3/51), from Sulayman ibn Yasar, who said: “A group of people were on a journey, and whenever they mounted (their riding animals), they would say: ‘Glory to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts).’ (Az-Zukhruf 43:13 ) He said: There was among them a man on a lean she-camel, and he said: ‘As for me, I am indeed capable of this one.’ So the camel suddenly bucked, threw him down, and broke his neck.”

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Our 17th Fiqh of Marriage lesson will begin shortly Insha'Allah. Below are the notes for our lesson.

From Al-Fuḍayl ibn Iyād (رحمه الله), who said: “There is no one from the people of knowledge except that on his face is brightness; due to the statement of the Prophet ﷺ: ‘May Allah brighten a person who heard from us a hadīth…’” [al-Mujālasah wa Jawāhir al-Ilm 1/414] ⸻ And from Sufyān ibn Uyaynah (رحمه الله), who said: “There is no one who seeks ḥadīth except that on his face is brightness; due to the statement of the Prophet ﷺ: ‘May Allah brighten a person who heard from us a ḥadīth and then conveyed it.’” [Sharaf Ashāb al-Hadīth (19)]

‎Helping Your Wife at Home: A Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ. ‎Imām Muhammad Ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen (rahimahu’Allah)

‎Imam Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه said: ‎The people of Islam, among mankind, are strangers. ‎And the believers, among the people of Islam, are strangers. ‎And the people of knowledge, among the believers, are strangers. ‎And the people of the Sunnah—those who distinguish it from desires and innovations—are strangers. ‎And those who call to it, being patient upon the harm of those who oppose them, are the most estranged of all of these.” ‎[Madārij as-Sālikīn 3/195] ‎

‎From ingratitude is that Allah relieves your distress, removes your worry, and uncovers your grief, then you say: ‎“It turned out the matter was easy, and I gave it more weight than it deserved.” ‎Abdullāh al-Muzanī رحمه الله said: ‎“A matter befalls a servant, so he supplicates and it is turned away from him. Then Shayṭān comes to him and weakens his gratitude, saying: ‘Indeed, the matter was easier than you were making it out to be.’” ‎[Al-Shukr by Ibn Abī al-Dunyā, p. 13]

‏ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَمْ يَكُ مُغَيِّرًۭا نِّعْمَةً أَنْعَمَهَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا۟ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ ‏“That is so because Allah will never change a grace which He has bestowed on a people until they change what is in their own selves. And verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.” [Surah Al-Anfal (8:53).] ‏Ibn Qayyim al-Jawzīyah rahimahu’Allah said: “He informed that He does not change the blessing which He has bestowed upon anyone until that person changes what is within himself. So he changes obedience to Allah into disobedience, gratitude into ingratitude, and the causes of His pleasure into the causes of His anger. Then Allah changes it upon him— as a recompense and in justice.” (al-Jawab al-Kafi, 74) ‏

Deliberately Returning Back to Sins After Ramadan by Al-Imam Abdul Aziz ibn Baz rahimahu’Allah.

عن الربيع بن سليمان قال: سمعت الشافعي يقول: “زينة العلماء التقوى، وحليتهم حسن الخلق، وجمالهم كرم النفس”. مناقب الشافعي للبيهقي (٢/١٤٨)

Al-Rabī ibn Sulaymān said: “I heard Imām ash-Shāfi’i rahimahu’Allah say: ‘The adornment of the scholars is piety (taqwā), their ornament (hilyah) is good character, and their beauty is the generosity of the soul.’” [Manaqib ash-Shāfi’i by al-Bayhaqī (2/148]

‎It is reported from Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: ‎“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married me in Shawwal, and he consummated the marriage with me in Shawwal. So which of the wives of the Messenger of Allah was more favored by him than me?” [Narrated by Muslim] ‎Imam al-Nawawī rahimahu’Allah said in his explanation of Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim (9/209) ‎“In this (hadith) is the recommendation (istihbāb) of conducting marriage, getting married, and consummating the marriage in the month of Shawwal. And our companions stated its recommendation and used this hadith as proof. ‎Ā’ishah intended by this statement to refute what the people of the pre-Islamic era (Jāhiliyyah) used to believe, as well as what some common people still imagine today—that it is disliked to marry, arrange marriages, or consummate marriages in Shawwal. ‎And this is false, it has no basis, and it is from the traces of the pre-Islamic period.
