Six levels of meaning at work:
1. I work because I have to.
2. I work for what I get.
3. I work because others need what I carry.
4. I work as an act of worship.
5. I work because this is what I was created for.
6. I become what God loves through the work itself.
Very few people get past level 2. Those above level 3 and beyond are truly successful ones: almost every waking hour is a means of attaining reward for them.

| 3 |  “When am I ever going to use this?”
Here’s a direct and honest answer:
You may never use every formula you learn in maths, every date you memorise in history, or every fact you learn in science.
But that doesn't mean you're #learning them for nothing. What you learn in school or university gives your mind a broader foundation to think with.
Students with strong background knowledge read better, understand more, make better judgments, and solve problems more effectively.
And even if you're only interested in standardised tests such as IELTS or the SAT, a broad knowledge base still matters. You will encounter unfamiliar topics, ideas, vocabulary, and contexts. The more you already know about the world, the more equipped you're to navigate these tests.

| 5 |  “Study while you're young. We are too old now. The time is yours.”
There is a sincere premise behind why grown-ups give this advice to the young: they want their children to fare better in life than they did.
But there are also grown-ups who continue to learn themselves, despite their age, responsibilities, and circumstances.
This is how we need to embody the advice we give others: not merely through our words, but through our actions.
Because only then will our words carry weight.
And only then can our legacy live on long after we are gone.

| 6 |  Allah mentions His limits - hudud Allah - 7 times in the Qur’an.
6 out of those 7 times, hudud Allah appears in the context of family: inheritance, marriage, divorce, and the rights and responsibilities within this institution.
Nothing Allah says is incidental.
When a family fails to follow Allah’s guidance, His limits are no longer being respected. And because everyone is part of a family - spouses, children, siblings, and extended family - the consequences don't stop with one person. They slowly spread through the entire family, and eventually, through generations.
If we want to fix the state of the Ummah, the first place to start is much closer to home:
By learning, respecting, and upholding Allah’s limits inside our own houses.

| 7 | Every one of us has a GPS
Some of us follow it to navigate life. Some of us are still learning to use it, so we sometimes lose our way. But many of us never even turn it on.
This explains why we are at a loss, rather than making progress.
It explains why we make a big deal out of everything.
It explains why we feel so disoriented, misled, and miserable nowadays.
Everyone's GPS is fully-functioning with all the clear guidelines, explicit directions, and the final destination. All that's left is to follow it.

| 8 |  Not every muslim can become a hafeez, but all muslims should try to memorize the Qur'an.
Regardless of their busy schedule.

Regardless of multiple obligations.
Come to think of it, the right word isn't 'regardless' , but 'because'.
Because life is always busy and there will rarely be a perfect time to begin.
Trust that Allah will ease your burden when you choose to shoulder this noble 'burden' of memorization.
Trust that Allah will put barakah in your time when you choose to spend some of it trying to understand His message to you.
Simply trust that He will take care of it all as long as you keep showing up with the right intentions.

Wise parents and wise teachers have have one thing in common: they put pressure on their kids by inculcating unbounded trust.
They don't impose rigid rules.
They don't scare them with bad consequences and looming deadlines.
They don't hover over every little mistake.
Especially when a child is just starting to learn something new.
Instead, they create the conditions for #learning, step back, and trust the learner to do their part.
That trust itself is so overwhelming that the kid feels positively inclined to raise to the occasion, take the responsibility, and study hard.
The pressure not to let others down can move mountains.

| 10 |  Like books, your life comes with chapters.
A chapter of waiting.
A chapter of caring for elderly parents.
A chapter of raising children.
A chapter of building.
A chapter of serving.
A chapter of illness.
Allah places you in each one with wisdom. Wishing to skip chapters comes with a price.
You pay with stress, anxiety, overwhelm, guilt, or burnout. You pay with a nagging feeling that you are somehow failing to enjoy the life you're living.
So, honor every chapter. Think of what Allah is trying to teach you through it.
With every chapter fully lived, the whole story will make sense.

God's love is ever-present,
stitched into every cell of your body,
woven into every glance you share,
pulsing through every breath you take.
It runs in your blood.
It moves with your steps,
fueling your very existence
with its constancy and permanence.
“How do I feel it more vividly?” you say.
By giving at least a bit of yourself to Him.
Of your time, of your focus, of your care.
Not because His love needs to be earned,
but because the more you turn toward Him,
the more clearly you begin to see
how much of His love is already there.

The Prophet ﷺ teaches: “The religion is sincere advice.”
The lesson: Islam does not teach us to make our feelings the final authority. It teaches us to remain humble enough to accept sincere advice, even when it hurts our ego.

Psychology can teach us how to understand ourselves. The Quran and the Sunnah teach us who we are, whom we belong to, anid what we are ultimately living for.

The student is the one who moves the plot, navigates the setting, confronts the antagonists - confusion, distraction, procrastination, forgetting - all the things that stifle learning.
The teacher, meanwhile, works largely behind the scenes.
They design the setting, provide the right tools, model effective strategies, give feedback, and guide the student away from wrong turns. But the teacher CANNOT do the learning for them.
It's the student who still has to think, plan, practise, struggle, make mistakes, retrieve, reflect, and act.

Time machines are real.
Just keep a diary, and you can travel back in time to meet your younger self whenever you want.
And not just meet her on the surface, but really see her: see her hopeful and lost, confident and insecure, full of convictions one day and drowning in confusion the next. You get to see her fears, her dreams, her doubts, her little obsessions, and all the things she was still trying to make sense of.
That version of you is so vivid, so alive, that you can recognize her like the back of your hand.
All the while, she has no idea who you are.
You get to enjoy that strange, exclusive anonymity as you study her under a sophisticated microscope.
She is living her life for the first time. You are reading it for the second and figuring out how to do better this time.
