Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for your continued attention to the human rights situation in Iran.
I am writing to urgently bring to your attention the case of Mojtaba Mohammadvali, a young man from Abdanan who was reportedly abducted on 29 Bahman by Iranian security forces.
According to reliable sources, he had previously been threatened in connection with a case related to the 2022 protests in Iran. He is currently believed to be detained under harsh and uncertain conditions, denied access to legal counsel, and at serious risk. His family has been left without reliable information about his whereabouts, and there are grave concerns for his safety.
In this context, political sponsorship by members of parliament and international figures is one of the few remaining tools that can help prevent further harm. Raising Mojtaba Mohammadvali’s name in official settings, issuing public statements, or sending formal correspondence can help protect his fundamental rights and send a clear message: that no citizen can simply disappear without accountability.
Similar political sponsorship has saved lives before, including during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement. Today, Mojtaba needs that same voice.
He is a young man whose future should not be placed in jeopardy for exercising his rights.
