The UK government wants to ban social media for children under 16. But here is the problem. Banning social media for kids does not protect them. It pushes them into darker corners of the internet. When access gets blocked, teenagers do not stop. They use VPNs. And VPNs open doors to far worse content, illegal content, content with zero moderation and zero oversight. We have seen this play out before. When Russia banned Telegram, ninety-five percent of Russian teenagers kept using it, just through VPNs. Same story in Iran. Bans do not work. They just move the problem somewhere harder to see. Parents already have real tools available. Parental controls. Screen time limits. Or simply no smartphone at all. Yet many parents hand toddlers an iPad just to keep them quiet. No government regulation on earth can fix that. Now here is where it gets serious.
