La pena: 20 meses de prisión, suspendida, y una multa. La acusada sostiene que no promocionó los libros, sino que se limitó a recibir los paquetes y almacenarlos. El tribunal, sin embargo, consideró que, como mínimo, debió rechazar las entregas una vez que conoció su contenido.
El caso plantea una cuestión incómoda: ¿Dónde queda la libertad de investigación y de información? ¿Qué límites legales se pueden imponer a la circulación de ideas y materiales, y hasta dónde puede llegar el derecho penal sin convertir la investigación, la revisión histórica o el debate intelectual en terrenos bajo sospecha y persecución?
Cuando el miedo a leer determinadas ideas condiciona lo que puede debatirse, la sociedad deja de ser verdaderamente libre.

Repsol advierte a las autoridades europeas que la normativa ambiental que entra en vigor el 1 de enero es imposible de cumplir y le obligaría a cerrar refinerías para evitar las sanciones.
Como ya informamos a los lectores de este canal en marzo, el reglamento de emisiones de metano aprobado por la UE en 2024 exige que a partir de 2027 los importadores demuestren que los productores cumplen los estrictos requisitos de la UE. Repsol solo puede acreditarlo para el 10 % de sus importaciones. El resto de los productores se niegan a proporcionar información al respecto y tienen otros clientes si Europa no quiere su gas y petróleo.
De momento, la Comisión Europea ha recomendado a los países miembros aplazar las sanciones, pero eso no cambia que las compañías estarán incumpliendo la ley, lo que les expone a que en el futuro se les pueda sancionar por ello o a que otras partes interesadas les denuncien ante los tribunales.
La Comisión Europea ha hecho una legislación imposible de cumplir y además extremadamente dañina para Europa y sus ciudadanos en la actual coyuntura, sin que su aplicación pudiera tener ningún efecto positivo sobre la vida de las personas o el medio ambiente, demostrando que son unos auténticos cretinos. La única solución es un giro de 180 grados en las políticas energéticas y climáticas de la UE que solo se podrá conseguir sustituyendo a la actual caterva de imbéciles que nos gobierna. | 139 |

Gov. Abbott signed an emergency declaration regarding the price of diesel:
“Texas agriculture and freight run on diesel,” Abbott wrote in a statement. “Record prices put both industries at risk and raise costs for every Texas family. Farmers and truckers can now use dyed diesel on Texas roads, and fuel, crop, and timber loads can move at a higher weight. These steps cut costs on the farm, on the road and at the store.”
What's odd is that the tax is not waived. You're free to use the red-dyed diesel, but still have to keep track of the tax they WOULD be paying, and remit payment. So this really provides very little relief ...
