| 2 | Two key Wildberries logistics hubs in Russia—Shushary and Utkina Zavod—have been hit.
They serve as the main processing and distribution centers for goods destined for St. Petersburg and the entire Northwestern region of Russia.
Since Utkina Zavod is a multi-tenant logistics complex, the damage may have extended beyond Wildberries’ facilities to businesses operated by other companies as well. | 745 |

| 6 | ❕ It appears that the newest Su-57 may have been shot down by its own forces near Moscow.
Today, Russia lost a fifth-generation fighter jet — the same aircraft that Putin has called the best in the world.
The estimated cost of one such fighter ranges from $35 million to $42 million. However, depending on the configuration, weapons package, training, and maintenance costs, the real price can exceed $100 million per aircraft.
The Su-57 crashed in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region. Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated that the pilot managed to eject. The preliminary cause of the crash was reported as a technical malfunction of the aircraft.
However, several hours after the crash, the Ukrainian intelligence-linked community InformNapalm claimed that the crash was not accidental, but rather the result of a cyberattack on Moscow’s air defense systems.
According to Russian military bloggers, the aircraft was hit by the “BARS-Moscow” air defense unit, which was specifically created to protect the capital region from Ukrainian long-range drones. | 1 236 |

| 9 | It would’ve been easier for Zelenskyy to demote his favorite, Syrskyi, than to bring Fedorov back, especially since he said Fedorov was removed because of a conflict with Syrskyi. But Syrskyi is no longer Commander-in-Chief, and Fedorov still isn’t back as Defense Minister. And most likely he won’t. There has to be a reason.
I just hope it isn’t the €90 billion in EU loans. A reformer and anti-corruption advocate would be in charge of the country’s biggest budget—the Ministry of Defense.
I really want to believe that’s not the reason. But these are just surface-level guesses. As always, the real story is probably full of details and nuances we don’t know about.
But I don’t think there’s anything good behind the decision not to reinstate Fedorov. | 1 256 |
| 10 | Fedorov responded to President Zelenskyy’s proposal to continue working in a different role, saying he would not accept any position other than Minister of Defense.
“When President Zelenskyy invited our team to the Ministry of Defense in January 2026, we came with a concrete plan to end the war: protect the skies, stabilize the front, and strike the enemy’s economy. We called this plan AIR–LAND–ECONOMY. Over the past six months, we have consistently implemented it. For the first time in years, Ukraine began to regain the initiative. Our joint results created something that had not existed before—a window of opportunity to force Russia into peace through strength. That opportunity must not be lost.
I am grateful to the President for all the options he offered me. But today, aside from the military on the battlefield, there are only three positions in the country that truly determine the course of the war: the President, the Minister of Defense, and the Commander-in-Chief. That is why I will not accept any position other than Minister of Defense,” he said.
“None of the other positions has the real authority to eliminate corruption in procurement, complete the transformation, carry out actions and operations against the enemy, eradicate the culture of lies and irresponsibility within the system, and finish the other reforms that remain.” | 1 219 |
