⚡️Significance of CARICOM for India Partnership in Multilateral Forums: Many CARICOM countries such as Antigua and Barbuda support India’s position in international forums. E.g. Support for permanent membership in the UNSC. South-South Cooperation: Countries from group participated in 3rd Voice of Global South Summit, 2024, organised by India.  Defence Export: E.g. Recently, HAL delivered two Dornier 228 planes to Guyana. Climate Action Collaboration/Energy Security: E.g. Suriname Joined International Solar Alliance (ISA) Other: Act as a gateway to Latin America, Cooperation in disaster resilience (E.g. Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure), Home to Indian Diaspora (Trinidad and Tobago), etc. 

⚡️CARICOM WHY IN NEWS- India proposed seven key pillars to strengthen ties between India and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Seven pillars For C-A-R-I-C-O-M. Pillars include Capacity Building, Agriculture and Food Security, Renewable Energy and Climate Change, Innovation, Technology and Trade, The first-ever India-CARICOM Summit was held in 2019. ⚡️About CARICOM It is established in 1973 to promote economic integration and cooperation in the Caribbean. Consists of 21 countries (fifteen Member States and six Associate Members) including Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, etc.

Recently,India-CARICOM Summit was held in Guyana.In this context consider the following statements: 1.The Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM) was established by the Treaty of Chaguaramas 2.The first India-CARICOM Summit was held in 2019 on the side-lines of the G-20 summit. 3.Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize and Guyana are the only members of CARICOM.

⚡️Lavender Cultivation 💜 It is a crop native to Europe but was introduced in the temperate regions of Jammu &Kashmir state by the CSIR Aroma Mission. It is a small, perennial aromatic herb shrub used in the fragrance, specialty food, and alternative medicine industries. Propagation of lavender can be done by seeds, rooted cuttings, tissue culture, and layering. Required climatic conditions Soil: It grows best in neutral to alkaline soil which is free draining. This crop is very sensitive to water logging . Climate: It is a hard and temperate plant that can tolerate drought and frost conditions.

An Implementation Agreement (IA) was signed between Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Australian Space Agency (ASA) on November 20, 2024 for further strengthening cooperation in space activities between Australia and India. The IA enables cooperation between both space agencies on crew and crew module recovery for Gaganyaan missions.
