Base Year of Wholesale Price Index Revised from 2011–12 to 2022–23 The Office of Economic Adviser, DPIIT will accordingly release the revised series of WPI with base year 2022-23. In addition, the Office would also release new series of Output Producer Price Index (OPPI), Trial Input Producer Price Index (IPPI), and Service Producer Price Index (Service PPI) of seven services, viz., Banking, Securities Transaction, Insurance, Management of Pension Funds, Railways, Air (Passenger), and Telecom with base year 2022-23. Considering the wide usage of WPI in price escalation clauses, this index will be released for five years from the date of release of the revised series along with PPI and will be discontinued thereafter.

There are several impacts of rupee depreciation: Imports become more expensive: One of the immediate impacts of rupee depreciation is that imports become more expensive. This is because when the rupee depreciates, it takes more rupees to buy the same amount of foreign currency. As a result, businesses and consumers in India have to pay more for imported goods and services, which can lead to higher prices for consumers. Inflation Increases: When the cost of imports increases, it can lead to inflation. Impact on foreign investment: A weaker rupee can discourage foreign investors from investing in India. This is because they are more likely to face losses when converting their profits back into their home currency. Higher borrowing costs: When the rupee depreciates, it can lead to higher borrowing costs for Indian businesses and the government. This is because foreign investors demand higher interest rates to compensate for the increased risk associated with investing in a country with a weaker currency.

Answer Writing Tips for First-Time RBI Grade B Mains Let’s face it — most of the time, our mind goes blank the moment we see the paper in the exam hall. And that’s completely normal. Don’t expect all the content you’ve read over the months to suddenly flood your memory. It rarely happens that way. Instead, what you end up writing are generic points — unless you’re prepared for that moment. So what’s the solution? ✅ One-Pager Notes with Keywords During your preparation, create one-pager notes for each important theme or chapter. Instead of copying paragraphs, jot down keywords, phrases, definitions, and 1–2 data points. Assign a simple mnemonic, story, or acronym to help you recall these themes quickly. These keywords act as mental triggers to help you retrieve the full content in the exam. ✅ Revise Smartly — Just Before the Exam Too These one-pager notes are your saviors. Revise them 3–4 times during prep, even the day before the exam, and ideally even during the 10–15 minutes before entering the exam hall. This helps convert long-term knowledge into active recall under pressure. ✅ Plan Before You Type Once you get the paper, don’t jump into writing. Take 2 minutes to go through all the questions and decide which 4 you’ll attempt. This is a strategic decision. Once selected, use the rough sheet to dump whatever you recall — facts, frameworks, keywords, structure — in bullet form. This is your blueprint. ✅ Typing with Flow Now when you start typing, your brain is already in "active recall" mode. You’re no longer thinking from scratch — you’re building on the rough points already noted. This drastically improves speed, structure, and coherence. Remember, answer writing is more about preparation and presence of mind than perfection. The better your revision and planning, the better you’ll perform — even when your mind goes blank.

In conclusion, the gap between education and employability is real and wide, but it is slowly narrowing. Government schemes have made a good start, but the deeper fix lies in improving the quality of education itself and connecting it closely with industry. Only then can India turn its huge young population into a skilled and productive workforce and truly gain from its demographic dividend. Words ~ 596
