We had a great time during the training today it was a time where we learned so much about test anxiety , how to cope with it and also how to study in a manner that can help us retain information for longer with less stress I would like to thank everyone who participated in making this happen especially ambo university's psychology department and ambo university's main campus freshman coordinator for being open minded and willing to help students with their academic journey , this is a start of a culture within our university that will help students be equipped with the skills the class rooms haven't been providing so know that this is just the beginning and we have more in store for you guys and as always our doors are always open to anyone that wants to be part of this amazing comunity.

Research indicates that cognitive factors play a more significant role in causing test anxiety than affective factors. Thus, it is deduced that test anxiety is a contributing factor to students' academic underperformance and low achievement. However, it can be effectively managed through appropriate training aimed at addressing the underlying causes of test anxiety. Bearing this in mind, the Ethics Club, in collaboration with Ambo University's Psychology Department and the Freshman Coordinator at Ambo University's main campus, has organized a specialized training session scheduled for Saturday at 3:00 PM (local time). This training aims to assist freshman students in familiarizing themselves with the university's academic culture and in striving for academic excellence. The session is designed to boost students' confidence and equip them with valuable skills essential for successful studying.

As you ponder on the above dillema let me introduce you to the man who came up with it his name is Lawrence Kohlberg is a renowned psychologist that developed a theory called the theory of moral developments , this theory proposes that moral reasoning, the way we think about right and wrong develops in six stages, these stages could be best described as climbing a mountain ⛰️of right✅ and wrong❌, each step taking you closer to moral mastery.
The stages are
Level 1: Pre-conventional morality (ages 4-7)
Stage 1: Punishment and obedience orientation
Rules are followed to avoid punishment. "I won't hit my brother because I'll get in trouble."
Stage 2: Reward orientation: Actions are right if they bring rewards. "I'll share my toys if you play with me
Level 2: Conventional morality (ages 7-10)
Stage 3: Good boy/nice girl orientation: Following rules to win approval and avoid disapproval. "I'll help grandma because it's the right thing to do."
Stage 4: Law and order orientation: Obeying rules and laws to maintain social order. "I won't steal because it's illegal."
Level 3: Post-conventional morality (adolescence and adulthood)
Stage 5: Social contract orientation: Understanding that rules are necessary for a fair society, but they can be changed if needed. "I'll respect others' opinions even if I disagree."
Stage 6: Universal ethical principles orientation: Basing moral decisions on universal principles of justice, fairness, and equality. "I'll stand up for what's right, even if it's unpopular .
Kholberg' s theory is not definitive nor is it perfect , its just one way we could try to understand what's morality .
Good morning guys 👋🏻
Today I want to ask you an important question, have you ever wonderd 🤔 what the right thing ✅to do is and if the right thing to do is always the moral thing😇 to do in a situation? Or might i say what makes a decision right ✅or wrong❌ ? What is the standard ???
Inorder to jog your mind a bit consider this dilemma

Hello everyone! 👋🏻 Today, I'm excited to present to you the Ambo University Ethics and Anti-Corruption Club. Let's delve into what we're all about:
1. What is the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Club?
The club was established in 2005 E.C. with the primary goal of inspiring, motivating, and educating students to embrace ethical standards that will ultimately shape our attitudes, lifestyles, and mindsets.
2. How are we working to achieve this goal?
Our first step towards inspiration is to embody the ethical lifestyle and create an environment where we can nurture the standards we aspire to. This involves organizing activities that motivate student participation, such as volunteering in the cafeterias on campus, maintaining cleanliness in our dormitories, and organizing/participating in various charity events.
➡️ What do we mean by "educate"?
We recognize that knowledge is an integral part of life, providing a comprehensive understanding of the world. The Ethics Club aims to create a space for growth by offering access to a wide array of books across different genres, as well as fostering an environment where ideas can flow freely, enabling individuals to develop the skills to construct and express ideas assertively.
