People overtrade their high conviction plays and end up completely roundtripping their gains. The absolute best way to fix this is to strictly separate your long term bags from your short-term trading capital. Keep them in completely different wallets. This forces you to stop touching your conviction bags when you get bored or distracted. It also ensures you still have dedicated liquid capital ready to deploy when fresh opportunities pop up on the timeline. The biggest trap is rotating out of your long term holds just to fund a quick impulse play. You almost always burn the money and end up with a smaller core position. Keep the capital separated and strictly stick to the strategy for each one.
