LineageOS 23.2 UNOFFICIAL | Android 16 | Kernel 5.4 | RaphGhost Kernel
Updated: 28/09/'26
▪️Support: Channel | Group
▪️Download
▪️Changelog:
• First ever Linux 5.4 kernel build for raphael — the device moves off the stock 4.14 kernel. Kernel: RaphGhost 5.4.302 with KernelSU-Next
• Brought up on the new kernel: display, touch, audio, camera, video, fingerprint, sensors, mobile data, Wi-Fi, charging, LED
• Deep sleep working, proper idle battery life
• Display stack built for 5.4 on the sm8150 generation, LiveDisplay colour modes (native / sRGB / DCI-P3 / HDR)
• Screen recording and camera video via new Codec2 encoders written for the 5.4 video driver
• Audio: smart amp and in-call speaker working
• Under-display fingerprint: enrol / unlock, plus screen-off unlock toggle
• Notification LED working
• VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling on Jio (see note below to enable on this build)
▪️Recovery
▪️Installation Guide : the guide is same just use the recovery shared in the post.
Notes:
• Clean flash required — this is a new kernel generation, do not dirty flash over 4.14 builds.
• Vanilla build, no GApps included.
• O.S.S vendor, kernel 5.4 (RaphGhost, KSU-Next).
• ROM comes as FBEv2 Encrypted, dynamic partitions, EROFS vendor/odm (system side ext4).
• No support for DFE users.
• Known: Visionox panel variant untested (support added need tester)
• Wi-Fi calling on Jio is not pre-baked in this build (lands in the next one). Enable it once with adb, it survives reboots. Needs USB debugging on; the cc commands need root, so start with adb root:
adb root
adb shell cmd phone cc set-value -p carrier_wfc_ims_available_bool true
adb shell cmd phone cc set-value -p carrier_default_wfc_ims_enabled_bool true
adb shell cmd phone cc set-value -p show_wifi_calling_icon_in_status_bar_bool true
adb shell settings put global wfc_ims_enabled 1
adb shell settings put global wfc_ims_mode 2
adb unroot

Linkerd upstream opensource contributions from the proxy memory investigation
Context: enabling linkerd for sand-api on prod has been blocked — with the mesh on, sidecar memory on sand-api and its downstream services only ever climbs and never releases, so we couldn't safely take it to prod traffic. While root-causing that blocker, we found it isn't our config at all: it's a long-standing bug/gap in linkerd itself. We've root-caused both, built + validated the fixes, and upstreamed them:
1. jemalloc missing on arm64 (the reason proxy memory never releases on Graviton + why MALLOC_CONF tuning silently does nothing):
• Issue: github.com/linkerd/linkerd2/issues/15613
• PR (fix): github.com/linkerd/linkerd2-proxy/pull/4613
2. No max age / idle timeout for pooled proxy-to-proxy HTTP/2 connections (held connections pin buffer memory forever — even app-side idle TTLs can't touch them, so memory climbs until restart/OOM):
• Issue: github.com/linkerd/linkerd2/issues/15623
• PR (fix): github.com/linkerd/linkerd2-proxy/pull/4618 — already reviewed by a community member; all feedback addressed and validated on our test cluster, waiting for next review.
Both fixes are running in pre-integ today via our custom proxy build (linkerd-proxy2-erg:2.311.0-jemalloc-maxage.1): proxy memory is now a bounded ~15-min sawtooth instead of an endless climb, with zero request errors and no latency impact. This unblocks the path to enabling linkerd on sand-api in prod.
The changes are small — feel free to review the code on the PRs and share your feedback in this thread
