So they said let me give you a hint if you want me or him( a interviewer in side, who was very thin) whom will you take to space,so i thought for a second or two and then i chose for the thin person, so they said yes design it for minimum weight i gave some answers
Then they shifted to hmt

I wrote down in all three co- ordinate system
They said "is third one(spherical co-ordinates) is correct"
I corrected there was an error they now said is it correct now I said yes ( when i checked from book after interview it was correct)

Apply eccentric load, moment, defelction of free end , meaning of fixed support
What if e is more than free end deflection(Which I said I don't know)
2) what is first law, what does it tell us about energy conversion, second law, kelvin plank statement, what does it say about efficiency, Drive relation b/t Temp pressure for polytropic pro ess, if a system is being taken from state1 to 2 while mass has been taken out what will be equations
3) a system have less mass when measured than find out with help of equation what is the reason ?

If a turn it by 90 degree which one will be better consider width is greater than height.

I gave the answer but they were not fully satisfied

Brief Intro
Fav subj-SOM, TOM, HT and Thermo
They didnt ask from favourite subjects mostly that time.
1)name 3 materials used in spacecraft, told, after that he said just 3? Then i added 2 or 3 more materials.
2) what are material used in aircraft
3)why aluminium alloy
4)at what location in aircraft titanium is used - i was not sure but i answered and explained the reason
Cryogenic materials
5) go to board draw a beam, load p at end, what is its stain energy write in short form, draw its stress distribution.they asked few more questions.
6) draw a curved beam of radius r what is its strain energy(i didn't understand the question properly, 2 times voice not clear and 3rd time he spoke while i was speaking too) but explained generalised method in the end
7)if only moment is acting on a beam which tof will you use to design it.
8) what are tof for ductile, what is MDET, what is von mises theory (both are same), i got confused between MSST and MDET due to interview pressure then he asked to write expression for von mises.
9)he said now i am going to ask you from math, he said what is value of log0, i said negative in infinite he said can you prove it.I used graph and expansion method to prove it
10) what is isometric and perspective drawing..
11)can you show us perspective drawing on board with example, i drawn.
12)what is 3rd angle 1st angle. I couldn’t explain due to pressure but took help of duster and my hand to explain my point
13)what are machining operations, i explained gave examples of few operations
Out of that they choosen milling.
14)okay milling - what is up and down milling-shown on board.
15) in up milling where is chip thickness maximum at end or in starting of machining.
I was asked to go to white board 4-5 times ,i was worried about compressibility chart and characteristics curve, fm etc etc, but they choosen different field.
