💥 At the end of June, Institute of Humanities hosted diploma defenses and the first graduation of the international master's program "Advertising and Communications in International Sphere".

The first students - representatives of Russia, Nicaragua, Vietnam, China, Algeria, Armenia - received their Master's degrees and wrote their names in the history of the Higher School of Media Communications and Public Relations. We congratulate the graduates on the completion of the Master's program and wish them a good journey, only forward, to new achievements, new creative projects in the international advertising and PR industry.🧡

Fyodor Konyukhov and Igor Potapkin reached the North Pole and set a world record 💥 Famous traveler Fyodor Konyukhov and pilot Igor Potapkin set a record — they were the first in the world to make a flight along the route: Franz Josef Land archipelago - North Pole on a two-seater parachute.

The record flight in the high latitudes of the Arctic with a length of 440, 51 km lasted 10 hours and 13 minutes from 16:29 July 7 to 02:42 July 8 (MSC) and took place in the corridor of 57-60 degrees East longitude at an altitude of 267 to 835 meters above the surface. The average speed was 47 km/h. Closer to the North Pole, the speed dropped to 30 km/h, as the pilots got into the zone of the headwind, which significantly slowed down their progress and, consequently, increased fuel consumption.

July 8 marks the 130th anniversary of the birth of Pyotr Leonidovich Kapitsa - an outstanding physicist and Nobel laureate, twice Hero of Socialist Labor, winner of Stalin prizes, Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences, member of the Royal Society of London. In 1912 Pyotr Leonidovich entered the St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute at the electromechanical faculty. After graduation he worked in the laboratory of A.F. Ioffe and in 1916 published his first scientific paper, and then became a teacher and employee of the Institute of Physics and Technology established in Petrograd.

Do you want to visit new summer locations outside of Saint Peterburg, but still don't know #where2go ? 📍Pushkin continues the great history of St. Petersburg and is located just 24 kilometers from it. 🚈 The easiest and most affordable way to get to Pushkin is by train. Travel time from Vitebsk railway station is half an hour. 📍Gatchina is another city in the Leningrad oblast, famous for its Gatchina Palace. The city is surrounded by picturesque parks, lakes and forests, creating a unique atmosphere for walking and relaxing. 🚈 Gatchina is 47 kilometers from St. Petersburg, and you can get there by train from the Baltic railway Station. The average travel time is about 1 hour. 📍 Vyborg is a medieval town in the Leningrad Oblast. Vyborg has been under the rule of Sweden, Russia and Finland, which has affected its architecture and culture, making it a unique place. 🚈 The easiest way to get to Vyborg is by train or "Lastochka" from the Finlandsky railway station.

Sport unites nations: a new gym was opened in the Polytechnic dormitory ⚡️ SPbPU dormitory No. 13 (30 Grazhdansky Ave.) hosted the grand opening of a sports gym. Thanks to the efforts of the student council of the dormitory and the support of the administration of the SPbPU Student Campus, all sports enthusiasts got a great opportunity to train and improve their health free of charge.

Polytech hosted a delegation from Gansu Province🤝 Our university hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Gansu Science and Technology Department, China. The International Cooperation Office of this department is a key governmental organization in the province, engaged in the development of plans and implementation of projects in the field of international scientific and technological cooperation. Ms. Liu Yemei, Director of the Office of International Cooperation, made a report on the international activities of Gansu Province and the prospects of cooperation with Russia. Chinese colleagues are committed to the principles of open cooperation and mutual benefit and proposed expanding participation in the "One Belt, One Road" program. They support exchanges, scientific cooperation, and joint innovation between universities, research institutions, and science and technology companies in Gansu and Russian universities. 🔗Read more about it
