The Las Cruces Police Department released on Friday surveillance footage and video from a body camera worn by Officer Jonah Hernandez that captured the violent attack that resulted in Hernandez's death on Feb. 11. A good samaratin, Issiah Astorga was able to stop the attack but It was a little too late for the officer who was brought to a hospital & later passed away.

Las Cruces, New Mexico: Around 5 p.m. Feb. 11, Hernandez, 35, was stabbed at least once with a “large kitchen knife” by a 29-year-old man — later identified as Silva — while responding to a trespassing call in the 300 block of South Valley Drive, Police Chief Jeremy Story said during a news conference after the incident.
