SOMETHING TO TAKE AWAY💝 There are many valuable lessons that can be learned from Marie Curie's life and career. Firstly, it's important to never give up on your dreams, no matter what obstacles you face. Marie Curie overcame many challenges in her life, including poverty, sexism, and illness. Despite all of this, she never gave up on her scientific ambitions. Secondly, it's crucial to pursue your passions, even if they are outside of the norm. Marie Curie was a trailblazer in a field that was dominated by men, and she showed that it's possible to succeed in any field, regardless of your gender. I hope that was helpful ❤️‍🔥

AWARDS AND TITLES🎉 Marie Curie's scientific achievements were widely recognized and she received numerous awards and honors throughout her career. In 1903, she became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize in physics, which she shared with her husband, Pierre Curie, and Henri Becquerel. In 1911, she became the first person to win a second Nobel Prize, this time in chemistry. She also received several other prestigious awards, including the Davy Medal, the Matteucci Medal, and the Barnard Medal. In addition to her awards, Marie Curie also held several notable titles. She was the first woman to be a professor at the Sorbonne. She lived a fulfilled life. One worthy of emulation and that's why the world of science is proud of her till this very day❤️

HER IMPACT ON THE WORLD😁 Marie Curie's work on radioactivity had a huge impact on science and medicine. She developed mobile X-ray machines that were used to treat soldiers during World War I. She also helped to establish radiation therapy as a treatment for cancer. Marie Curie was a true pioneer in her field. She broke down barriers for women in science and made important contributions to our understanding of the world around us. And to think, she did all of this in the face of adversity and discrimination. She's definitely a scientist worth learning about! 😊 Let's see what she got from it👇

HER WORKS🍷 Unsurprisingly, Marie Curie's most notable work was on radioactivity. She discovered that certain elements, such as uranium, emit a type of radiation that she called "radioactivity." This was a groundbreaking discovery, as it proved that atoms were not indestructible, as previously thought. Marie Curie also discovered two new elements, polonium and radium, which were both highly radioactive. She also developed techniques for measuring radioactivity, which laid the foundation for nuclear physics and radiochemistry. In addition to her work on radioactivity, Marie Curie also made important contributions to the study of crystallography and magnetism.

HER EDUCATION Marie Curie's education was quite remarkable. Despite coming from a relatively poor family, she excelled in her studies and graduated from high school with top honors. She then went on to study at the Sorbonne, one of the most prestigious universities in France. There, she studied mathematics and physics, and in 1894, she earned a degree in physics. Marie Curie then went on to do her own research, and in 1897, she became the first woman to be awarded a research fellowship at the Sorbonne. It was during this time that she began her groundbreaking work on radioactivity. How amazing is that?

OVERVIEW We'll be starting with a brief overview of her life and then move on to her scientific achievements. On December 18, 1912, the discovery of the skull known as the Piltdown Man was announced. WHAT IS THE PILTDOWN MAN? This is the first important fossil human skull ever to be unearthed in England. It's discovery was announced at a meeting of the Geological Society of Great Britain. According to Charles Dawson, steward of Barkham Manor and an attorney and secretary to the Sussex Archaeological Society; and Arthur Smith Woodward, keeper of Geology at the British Museum, the remarkable find was made at Piltdown Common. The specimen, known as Piltdown Man, occupied an honored place in the catalogues of fossil hominids for the next forty years. But in 1953, thanks to some rigorous scholarly detective work, Piltdown Man was revealed to be nothing more than a forgery, manufactured from modern human and animal remains. What a rollercoaster 🥲 Stay tuned for more at: https://t.me/AjaksTutorials
