Cows in the UK could be given “methane blockers” to reduce their emissions of the greenhouse gas as part of plans to achieve the country’s climate goals. Farmers welcomed the proposal, which follows a consultation that began in August on how new types of animal feed product can reduce digestive emissions from the animals. However, green campaigners were sceptical, arguing that the move would not address the other major environmental harms resulting from the beef and dairy industries and showed a fixation on “techno fixes” rather than reducing consumption. There are about 9.4m cows and calves in the UK. Nigeria: Pest Attack - Kano Tomato Farmers Lose Over N1.5bn Over N1.5 billion worth of tomato plantations is said to have been destroyed by the recent attack of tuta absoluta, a tomato pest that is described as one of the most devastating insects affecting tomato crops. Speaking to Daily Trust on the update of the pests attack, state chairman of the Tomato Out Growers Association of Nigeria (TOGAN), Alhaji Sani Danladi Yadakwari, revealed that the association has started a mini census of affected farms in the already mapped out attacked areas, adding that so far, over 300 hectares of tomato plantation has been affected. He further explained that the attack is gradually spreading to more farms in other areas across the tomato-producing areas in the state. Indiana Bans Gender Reassignment Procedures for Minors With a signature from Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb, Indiana has banned gender reassignment interventions for minors. That means minors will not be able to use puberty blockers, hormone medicines, or undergo gender reassignment surgery until they have the maturity granted from 18 years of life. Senate Bill 480, signed on Wednesday, prohibits a physician or other practitioner from knowingly providing “gender transition procedures” to an individual who is less than 18 years of age, including those with parental consent. Watch: New BOMBSHELL Pfizer Lawsuit Could Change Everything In South Africa Leading medical professionals in South Africa demand urgent cessation and judicial review of Pfizer’s vaccine products Pfizer could face legal action in South Africa for the Covid vaccine. The High Court of South Africa received a show cause notification on Monday from a group going by the name of, Freedom Alliance of South Africa (FASA). "Real-world data analysis, which is claimed to show an association with increasing death from both COVID and non-COVID causes in the vaccinated compared to the unvaccinated," was included in the filing. The plaintiffs contend that the emergency use authorization Pfizer used to distribute the vaccine was "illegal," and they are requesting the court to review and revoke it.
