Understanding the complex pathogenesis of COVID-19 continues to evolve. With observation and quarantine as the prevailing standard of care, this study evaluated the effects of virgin coconut oil (VCO) in the biochemical markers of suspect and probable cases of COVID-19. A 28-day randomized, double-blind, controlled intervention was conducted among 63 adults in two isolation facilities in Santa Rosa City, Laguna, Philippines. The participants were randomly assigned to receive either a standardized meal (control) or a standardized meal mixed with a predefined dosage of VCO. Changes in clinical markers were measured at three time points (day 0, 14, and 28), with daily monitoring of COVID-19 symptoms. Participants in the intervention group showed a significant decline in the C-reactive protein level, with the mean CRP level normalized to ≤ 5 mg/dL on the 14th day of the intervention. Ricardo Maarman Continues To Push For Division In an attempt to further alienate and cause division, Mr Maarman continues to push for debate between activists alike seeking an answer only the "experts" should answer. If there is one thing we all agree on, is that this covid-19 issue has been a bunch of smoke an mirrors since the beginning, however, reading through the recent press statement, i.e, letters between Nick Hudson and Ricardo, we see mere weak attempt at a poorly orchestrated mudslinging contest. Hudson Points out, “As PANDA has documented extensively, the entire official narrative regarding COVID is bogus”. He continues to point out that engaging with Ricardo would be a waste of time and should be directed to those acquainted with science and not be debated with the someone not equipped to answer this question. We have found that this attempt at mudslinging and causing division between many individuals is party politics and should be ignored before it causes division. - We all know this is a distraction and it should not be taken seriously. WHY FEAR GOVERNMENT? written by Themba Madi Whether rightly or wrongly, we have somehow gotten to believe that government is the authority. Well folks, that simply isn't true, not by a long shot. Whilst government is comprised of elected officials, who ideally are there to help shape the laws that we the people want and need to suit and fit our society; and to amend them to fit and suit the changing times. All of this being done, based on a mandate that we empower those elected officials with for their tenure of office. So the power is ultimately with us, the people, in our VOTES. We hold the real power, not them. They are meant to be our elected servants and only for a defined period or term.
