Since Friday, Woolworths has repeatedly topped the trending list on Twitter following the launch of its WPride campaign in celebration of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) community. Good Day Woolworths  My name is Advocate Laila Yousuf and I have always loved shopping at Woolworths the environment was conducive of family with beautiful ranges for children and adults and Mothers Day and Father's Day specials. Yes through the years Woolworths has had a few customer service issues there was a debacle where real fur was used instead of fake fur. I even recall something regarding a listeriosis crisis relating to Enterprise policy. More recently a rat was videoed in a store near the meat section. All is well and good nothing dimmed the bright retail light of Woolworths until recently.. I am a devout Muslim from a strict Muslim background with devout Christian friends and associates in a majority Christian country being South Africa, with that said, I want to underscore how deeply shocked people are at the recent promotion of WW titled gay pride month with an advert about being an ally for LGBTQ and featuring little children. I am more saddened by the lengths that Woolworths has gone to promote and advertise such disgusting mannequins where two female mannequins are clearly naked and they have the same height their breasts specifically their nipples are touching and their lips meet in a kiss. I represent more than a 1000 individuals from all walks of life who have signed a petition calling for this promotion to be withdrawn immediately. The very notion of a family unit is threatened by the concept of LGBTQ which goes against the notion of morality. If Woolworths has begun promoting LGBTQ now and if you want to continue on such a trajectory then definitely there will be a time where there will be a justification for including prostitution into your brand and why stop there do also even include bestiality .. why stop at LGBTQ try a hand at promoting Satanism and witchcraft as well to gain a thorough inclusive customer base. The one thing I am absolutely certain of is I along with my colleagues and associates will no longer be supporting Woolworths with even a cent because as conscious consumers we know that other stores such as Truworths and Edgars are not in cahoots with destroying the foundation of the community which is the family unit.
