A musician entered his seed phrase into Ledger Live — the version he downloaded from the Mac App Store. Trusted platform, official-looking app, professional interface. The app was counterfeit. 5.92 BTC, $424K, drained.
ZachXBT traced the theft. Apple had listed the fake app in its own store.
