🖥 A week of critical vulnerabilities
Over the past few days:
⏺ PHP patched two critical vulnerabilities that allow remote code execution on the server
⏺ GitLab disclosed a flaw rated 10 out of 10 that affects every version released since 2014
⏺ Node.js shipped fixes for 10 vulnerabilities at once
⏺ The popular Python library LiteLLM was compromised with malicious code that steals passwords and keys
⏺ A hosting provider’s infrastructure was attacked through its control panel
Vulnerabilities are being found more and more often, in part with the help of AI. Old code that nobody has reviewed in years is hit especially hard.
What to do right now:
📥 Update PHP, Node.js and GitLab if you use them. Patches are already out.
🔍 Check your LiteLLM version. If you installed 1.107.0, rotate all keys and tokens that were stored on that machine.
🔑 Don’t keep secrets in plain text in your project files, and give each key only the permissions it needs.
📬 Keep track of security updates for the software you use: most projects have a mailing list or a dedicated page for security advisories.

| 2 | 😳 «The password isn't being entered!»
One of the most common things people say when connecting to a server via SSH for the first time. In fact, the password is being entered, but the characters don't appear on the screen. This is intentional for security reasons.
Here are a few other things that often confuse customers:
🤷♂️ They look for the password in their account settings, but it's actually on the service page and in the email they received after purchase
🤷♂️ They enter their Aéza account username in the login field, but they need to use root
🤷♂️ They press Ctrl+V in PuTTY and nothing happens, when they actually need to right-click to paste
🤷♂️ They get worried about the unknown server key warning when connecting through FileZilla for the first time, even though this is normal and they just need to accept the key

🎨 The website got a redesign
Back in June, we told you we were working on a new design. Now the main pages of aeza.ru and aeza.net have a fresh new look.
We’ve also added more features to your account:
🌍 Domain management
You can now connect domains registered with other providers to Aéza services.
🏢 Business verification
Legal entities can now verify their company directly through their account.
And some changes you probably didn’t even notice — which is exactly the point:
💾 Faster backups
Backups are now created faster, and the server’s file system no longer freezes during the process.
✍️ Improved suspension notifications
Notifications now include the specific reason for the suspension and the steps required to resolve it, making the process faster and reducing unnecessary back-and-forth.

Today we’re used to websites full of services, advertisements, and entertainment. But back in 1991, the World Wide Web was created solely to help researchers share scientific information.

Friendly reminder: if you have important servers or other services, we recommend checking whether Auto-Renewal is enabled.
We regularly see cases where users simply forget to renew their service on time. As a result, the server gets suspended, and unfortunately, recovering the data isn’t always possible.
🖥 To avoid worrying about expiration dates, just enable Auto-Renewal once. As long as your account balance remains positive, the system will automatically renew your service.
It takes less than a minute to check, but it can save you a lot of stress in the future.
