Ekiti State University's (EKSU) cut-off mark for the 2025/2026 academic session is 160. This means that candidates who score 160 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are eligible to participate in the post-UTME screening exercise.
*Departmental Cut-off Marks:*
- *Highly Competitive Courses:*
- *Medicine and Surgery*: 260 and above
- *Law*: 250 and above
- *Electrical and Electronics Engineering*: 250 and above
- *Civil Engineering*: Not specified exactly, but 250+ recommended
- *Pharmacy*: 240 and above
- *Accounting*: 240 and above
- *Other Courses:*
- *Nursing*: 220 and above

Now with the above, Everyone is entitled to their opinion , So I don't really see why jamb should be blamed for failure by students or insulted in anyone possible because it is the most standard Nigeria exam and we should be proud of them , atleast we have one completely standardized exam , which is why many other exams are trying to emulate them especially WAEC but Shaa we no go greee for WAEC oo😂, anyway Kudos to JAMB for an excellent work , job weldon 👏🏻, infact jamb deserves serious award✅.

*REASONS WHY STUDENTS FAIL UTME.*
*(1) Lack of proper educational background and Poor educational infrastructure*
*(2) Students Lack of passion to read with no mentorship to motivate them to read.*
*(3) Parents inability to perform their duties as parents well.*
*(4) Has the passion to read but no one to guide them properly through the best way in other for them to achieve the success.*
*(4) Most common one , I think we all know it but pretend we don't 😑( tiktok, anime, games I.e COD etc) infact social media as a whole.*
*(5) above all students getting scammed by scammers promising them non existing runs during jamb and funny part even after all the warnings, they will still fall victim, me safe I'm tired of warning.*

So since 2015 jamb has been fully CBT till date , and honestly speaking, UTME is the simplest and best exam to use and test how brilliant a student is , because jamb is simply you (student) and your computer, no other way around it , so if you can't pass jamb how will you be able to pass waec and NECO that is more harder and deadlier than UTME , infact NECO alone can give a master degree holder and proff for that matter a very strong tough time ,
Many of us in RUNS consider NECO the hardest final year secondary school exam to write in Nigeria , but the joy is that NECO comes aday to exam. Na wetin dey save many of you students during NECO exam.
Now these are things you have to know about UTME questions
JAMB cannot give you questions that will waste your time in exam hall unlike WAEC and NECO , UTME questions are flexible questions which you can easily solve and get the answers immediately and proceed to the next questions without waste of time
That's why if you ask those that got 300+ , what you will hear will be that if you read hard for the exam , on the mean exam day what you will see will be too simple , even you safe will be asking how can jamb set these Kain simple questions

Now let's analyse what jamb is , jamb it's self is a board which coordinates and organise the exam called utme , now what you called Jamb exam is actually called utme which in full meaning is unified tertiary and matriculation examination , now what student failed is called utme , is wrong to say that students failed jamb , because is more like saying students failed the board due to the fact that joint admission and matriculation board are board of directors that conduct the examination called utme.
Let's keep these aside ,
Jamb introduced CBT in the year 2012 , but it wasn't fully implemented until later .in the year 2013 , the board(jamb) conducted the unified tertiary matriculation examination (UTME) with three test mode which are.
-Traditional paper and pencil Test (PPT) .
-DUAL BASE TEST (DBT)
-Computer based Test (CBT).
Now in the year 2015 ,the board (JAMB ) decided that UTME should fully transition into CBT , because by conducting those three tests above ☝🏻, it was noticed that it has 98% security against malpractice, which is the primary focus of every organisation conducting examination in every country in the world.
