this feels like looking back at floppy disks 😭 ... crazy how we used to think a 4k context window was huge, and now we're talking about 10M+

I'm writing my stance on AI and publishing it as an open letter on my website... and boy, it's a hot take 👀

1st lock-in of the day 🔥
Ngl, it’s one of those days where you’re genuinely grateful for not having an in person job. It’s raining, everything feels gloomy and dark.
Seeing people heading to work in this cold weather really puts things into perspective.

Woke up with a random thought... If I woke up tomorrow and everyone was just... gone (not the rapture, just one of those movie scenarios), I'd spend the first few days downloading every major open source model I could LLMs, vision models, video models, world models... everything.
Because once the internet and cloud services eventually go down, that's it. and knowlege is power ... after that, my entire mission would be figuring out how to keep the power on before the grid and backup systems eventually fail. ( lmk if u have other plans )
