Repost from Birhan Nega
Ethiopia is among the top 5 fastest growing developer communities in Africa. Nigeria is a hot spot for OSS adoption and technological investments, and its 45% year-over-year growth rate—which is the largest worldwide increase—reflects this.

An API is like a link between the front and back of a website, acting similar to a waiter in a restaurant. Imagine the kitchen as the website's backend, handling food logic, and the database as a store with ingredients. The frontend is like the food you see on the table after ordering in a restaurant.
Here's how it works: when you (the client) want something from the "restaurant" (website), you choose from a menu, like API endpoints on a website. Your backend responds only if your request is valid. The API, like a waiter, takes your request and tells the backend. Once the backend finishes, the API gets the response and shows it to the frontend, similar to a waiter bringing your food.

Let me tell you about something important I learned in my economics class. Even though I'm not a big fan of the subject, there's a basic idea that stuck with me – not just for the class but for life in general.
Enough with the intro, right? Let's talk about opportunity cost. It's a simple concept that explains that to get something, you have to give up something else. The thing you give up is called the opportunity cost. We make decisions all the time, but have you ever thought about what you had to give up to make those choices?
