| 2 | In many societies, it is compulsory for young people to attend schools until they become 18 years old, particularly in developing countries. While there are several benefits to dropping out of schools and finding a job related to financial independence and learning traditional craftsmanship, I believe that education has to be a top priority for every growing child until their adulthood.
There are two main advantages to getting a job without school education, one of which is related to financial freedom. Once young people happen to come across a job that completely suits their desire, they should immediately seize the opportunity and chase after their dream, which in turn provides certain amount of money as a salary that creates economic freedom. Take many African countries, for instance. People in these countries tend to struggle financially, forcing them to drop out of school education and have a job in particular workplaces. Only through child labor and support, in their cases, can families provide the whole members with a standard of life. Another possible advantage is connected to learning traditional craftsmanship. People should admit the fact that not all the members of a society become well-educated and get white-collar jobs, and someone else have to shoulder the responsibility of learning certain craftsmanship that have been an integral part of their identity. Through engaging in these activities can young generation develop a sense of belonging and pride.
On the other hand, young people are supposed to prioritize education over any kind of alternative pursuits as it equips them with essential knowledge, skills, and confidence. When parents make sure that their children are acquiring the most theoretical and practical knowledge of different domains, there is a high likelihood of them to lay a great foundation for a bright future, leading to a happy and prosperous life. Moreover, young generation have a huge potential to gain international education from those who are the top professionals of their fields, thereby enabling them to pursue higher education in foreign countries, interact with individuals from different walks of life, honing such interpersonal skills as communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution, all of which are absolutely fundamental for finding a job with competitive salary in a timely and convenient manner.
In conclusion, however appealing it appears to find a job instead of going to school for years as far as economic freedom and a mix of emotions related to identity are concerned, I am a firm believer that education is the key factor in personal and professional success, and therefore has to be prioritized no matter what. | 57 |
