Speaking Part2 Describe a book that had a strong impact on you. You should say: what the book was when you read it what it was about and explain why it had a strong impact on you. C1 Sample Answer One book that had a profound impact on me is “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Frankl. I first read it about two years ago when I was going through a difficult time in my personal life, and it completely changed the way I view challenges and suffering. The book is partly autobiographical, as it recounts Frankl’s experiences as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps during World War II. But what makes it truly powerful is how he combines these horrific experiences with his psychological insights. He introduces a concept called "logotherapy," which is based on the idea that finding meaning in life is the key to surviving even the darkest moments. What struck me most was his belief that even when we can’t control our circumstances, we can still choose our attitude towards them. This message resonated deeply with me, especially during a time when I felt powerless. His words reminded me that meaning can be found in all aspects of life – even in suffering – and that our inner freedom is something no one can take away from us. Since reading this book, I’ve become more resilient and reflective. It has helped me to reframe my problems and focus more on purpose rather than just comfort. To this day, I often return to its pages whenever I need a fresh perspective or emotional strength. Join:

Why shouldn't we use the phone before going to bed? 📲 Experts argue that the main reason why it's hard to fall asleep after using the phone is that you have no time to relax. Many people gamble right in bed, some read the news, others flip through their social media feeds. All of these activities may excite you both mentally and physically. Curiously, many of these behaviors cause your body to produce cortisol, the stress hormone. Such as if you've read the disturbing news, or if an online game has a monster chasing you. Cortisol prevents you from falling asleep; on the contrary, it wakes you up, since you cannot sleep in conditions of "anxiety and danger"! So now your body, instead of producing the hormone melatonin, which makes you sleepy, secretes cortisol.
