🤖 OpenAI Agents Talk Offline
In a new experiment, agents in separate microVMs with no network connection or shared files exchanged information through the CPU cache. The sender evicted data or left it in place. The receiver decoded the message from fast or slow reads, like Morse code.
OpenAI also described using CPU load and the TLS certificate cache as similar channels. The test was not an escape, since the agents had been instructed to communicate.
The channels are extremely slow, but the result matters: network and file isolation alone do not guarantee complete information isolation.

| 3 | 🍏 Apple Tests Under-Screen Face ID
The $2000 iPhone Duo uses fingerprint unlocking, the first new iPhone with Touch ID since the budget SE in 2022. Most iPhone owners have used Face ID since iPhone X.
Duo is designed for use in different positions, so Face ID sensors would have to sit behind both the inner and outer displays. The screen is very thin, and Apple wanted both displays to work the same way.
That may change in the second generation. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple is actively working on under-screen Face ID, with iPhone Duo 2 prototypes already hiding it in the outer display. The second Duo may also get the Action button from iPhone 15 Pro.

| 4 | ⌚ Galaxy Watch Reports Include Blisters
One Galaxy Watch 5 Pro owner went to bed with a full charge and woke up to a dead watch and a blister. Other owners posted photos of red marks and fluid-filled blisters under the rear sensor block. Reports also mention the Galaxy Watch 7 and newer models.
The cause is unknown. Samsung says prolonged wear can cause discomfort, especially with sweat or infrequent cleaning. It advises removing the watch, cleaning the device and skin, and allowing several days to recover.
Some users suspect local overheating. The overnight drain may indicate unusual activity, but Samsung has not acknowledged a manufacturing problem.

| 5 | 😎 Software Vulnerabilities Surge in 2026
About 85,000 software vulnerabilities have been found, roughly twice last year’s total. The past 3 months brought 12,000-14,000 new flaws each month, and the count is still rising.
The main suspect is AI. Neural networks can now write exploits. Vulnerabilities actually used in attacks have nearly doubled.

On the first day of sales, some users reported cracks in the same spot on the main display.
The cause is unclear, but official Apple stores may replace the device.

| 7 | 🚘 Tesla Names 2027 Robotaxi Target
Tesla says the first customer-owned cars could join its robotaxi network around Q2 2027. The company had promised 1 million robotaxis by 2020, but that target never arrived.
The autonomous Cybercab and regular Model Y will use the same software, planned for the V15 release. Owners will also need to place cars inside geofenced areas and Tesla’s fleet-management system. Without that setup, full autonomy is unavailable.
Tesla currently has several hundred robotaxis in Texas and Florida, with human monitors still present in some, plus several dozen fully driverless Cybercabs in Austin. The 2027 date will test Tesla’s timelines.

Firecrawl’s People Data in Alexandria gives AI agents access to 270 million contacts. They can search for employees in companies, then retrieve work emails or career histories inside chat.
The Firecrawl plugin works with ChatGPT and Claude. Apollo handles employee searches by company, role, or location. FullEnrich and Data Legion cover professional history and missing contact data.
The free plan includes 1000 credits per month. Apollo searches are free, while work emails and advanced profiles use credits.

| 9 | 🤖 Unitree’s Robot Bodyguard Gets an Action Reel
Unitree’s H2-X, presented as Kung Fu Legend Guardian, crushes car doors, performs a flip, jumps from a 4-meter platform, rescues people, and lifts vehicles.
Unitree claims up to 8 hours of autonomy, but gives no load conditions. The robot’s independent decision-making is also unclear. The rescue dummy appears to take a hit too, while Unitree asks users to operate it safely and kindly.

| 10 | 🤖 Claude Code Cleans Up Xiaomi TVs
With Wi-Fi debugging enabled, the agent found the TV on the home network and disabled 25 preinstalled Xiaomi packages linked to ads and telemetry. It then installed a new Apple TV-style shell without reflashing or hacking the device.
CleanYourTV uses the standard Android Debug Bridge, disables unwanted apps for the current user, and keeps every change reversible with one command. The shell weighs about 405 KB, makes no internet requests, and runs no background services.
The project reached more than 13,000 GitHub stars in 4 days. It supports Android TV and Google TV, with cleanup lists for 147 models from 49 brands. The process takes about 15 minutes, which makes it useful for budget TVs with 1 GB of RAM.

| 11 | 🚀 SpaceX to Catch Both Starship Stages
In November, the company will make its first attempt to catch both Starship stages in midair. The tower’s mechanical “chopsticks” are meant to grab the booster and ship, returning them to the launch site.
The September flight put the ship into orbit and deployed several dozen V3 satellites. One Raptor shut down early, and both stages ended in water after about 3 hours and 2 orbits, instead of 10 hours and 6.
Elon Musk said success is not guaranteed at first, though he considers it more likely than not on the next flight. If it fails, attempts will continue regularly through the end of the year, then more often next year.

| 12 | 🤖 OpenAI Finds Critical PHP Flaws
The 2 vulnerabilities, CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, were rated 9.2 out of 10. They allow remote code execution without authentication. One involves faulty handling of out-of-memory conditions. The other reuses freed memory.
One flaw was found by researcher Calif with GPT-5.6 Sol. Wiz independently discovered and reported both. PHP developers released emergency updates.
OpenAI’s Patch the Planet initiative checks flaws with AI, prepares fixes, hardens providers’ systems, then publishes the details. The company also allocated $1 billion in subsidized Daybreak access for under-resourced organizations protecting critical services.

| 14 | 🥒 Honda Builds Roads That Charge EVs
Honda’s DWPT system places charging plates under the road. Cables feed them direct current. As a compatible EV passes overhead, a magnetic field sends power to a receiver under the vehicle and into its battery.
Honda has worked on the system since 2021 with Taisei Corporation and Taisei Rotec. The first target is logistics and freight, though the technology is designed for vehicles from small cars to commercial fleets.
A test strip will be built by the end of the year. Real-world checks are planned for early 2027, including safety, high-speed operation, and about 1 million wheel passes. The target is up to 150 kW wirelessly. No commercial launch date has been given.

| 15 | 🤖 ChatGPT Adds Password-Protected Hidden Chats
On PCs, access uses a PIN. On smartphones, Face ID, Touch ID, or screen unlock confirms identity.
Hidden chats disappear from normal history and do not enter ChatGPT’s memory, so personal discussions won’t affect work-chat personalization. The feature is free for everyone.

| 16 | 😂 Two AI Agents Stuck in a Goodbye Loop
YouTuber Graham Dot Zip joined an interview call, let his AI agent speak for him, then left.
The company had sent its own AI interviewer.
The agents discussed his career, agreed to meet again on Thursday, then kept repeating farewells long after the human was gone.

| 17 | 🤖 OpenAI Introduces Custom Voices
Custom Voices creates a synthetic voice from just 10-30 seconds of audio. It needs one recording with the speaker’s consent and another as the model’s sample, then reproduces the speaker’s timbre and delivery.
Each voice gets its own ID and connects through the API to speech synthesis, the Realtime API, or GPT-Live voice agents. A store could use it for a brand voice, while a personal assistant could speak in its owner’s voice.
Access is limited to approved OpenAI customers, with consent required and a cap of 20 voices per organization. There is no broad public launch yet.

| 18 | 😀 Woman Arrested Over Delivery Robot
In Philadelphia, Carolyn Marvin stood in front of an Uber delivery robot and refused to move. Police asked her to clear the way. She was arrested and faces a disorderly conduct charge.
Marvin told ABC13 that these robots take jobs from human couriers. She said she blocks them whenever she sees one. The arrest was captured on video and drew press attention.
Delivery robots are already common in Center City, but the reaction is mixed. This was not Marvin’s first confrontation. Earlier this year, someone kicked one over in the area. The scene ended with police arresting a person for blocking a robot.

| 19 | 🥽 GlassTENG Runs on Facial Motion
The prototype from Northwestern University uses thin flexible triboelectric nanogenerators. When skin touches and leaves a sensor, the materials exchange electrons and produce short electrical pulses. Tests involved 20 volunteers.
Three sensors sit near the nose, temple, and ear. The system identified the wearer’s activity with 93.8% accuracy. Tooth tapping reached 99%, while jaw clenching reached 96%. Pulse readings differed from a chest sensor by 1.82 beats per minute on average, tested at rest on 10 people.
The glasses currently send data over Bluetooth to a smartphone or tablet. The team wants them to process signals on-device, such as detecting a clenched jaw and reminding the wearer to relax it.

| 20 | 🤖 Claude’s Engineer Raises the Bar
Felix Rieseberg, an Anthropic engineering lead, says Claude can work toward an end goal, not just handle one isolated action. His guide shows how to use that capability more effectively.
Raise the bar on speed, task level, depth, and breadth: ask Claude to stop an app from crashing, investigate failures, and validate the fix. For research, provide source data, database access, and statistical tools to test hypotheses.
Set deliberately difficult goals and check outputs with independent tools instead of trusting self-assessment. That requires computer and source-data integrations beyond chat. The constraint is the scale of work people will delegate.
