Hübbe-Schleiden sat at the crossroads of cosmopolitan and racist, scientific and esoteric elements that characterized the Austro-German supernatural imagination of the time. Austro-German theosophical trends are said to have shed the more universalist trappings due to the work of Hübbe-Schleiden and Rudolf Steiner. This then leads into Guido von List and Jörg Lanz von Liebenfels along with the other Völkisch occult writers.
