I have listened to a lot of rajiv dixit earlier. He is quite a statist and socialist, exposed some good things but his understanding of economics and natural law are grim. Swadeshi spirit doesn't appeal to me, it is very tribalistic and irrational. My connection is to awake people, just because there are people living close by to me doesn't make me any more affectionate towards them than someone living abroad. You are basically complaining about the government solutions to the problems created by govt itself. Resources shouldn't be owned by government to begin with, and the problem is the fiat system and debt slavery that the govt puts us under by doing deficit spending and then putting us under debt to finance that. The 1990s crisis was a creation of this, and decades of socialism/central planning. Then to get us out of the crisis they had to open up the economy, sell state owned assets to their crony friends, and increase the grip of foreign players over india. Again, i dont care about the Indian rupee, it is garbage just as much as any other govt printed currency and they all deserve to go to zero, and the people using them will pay the price if they don't begin to understand how fiat money works. - Although i disagree with the states version of privatization, the solution ultimately is privatization, but not the state selling it to nwo agents and cronies, but the state simply exiting the sector and handing it over to the taxpayers. We discussed this in my previous intv with madhusudan. Competition is woven into the fabric of life, indian people will be competiting among themselves even if we build walls around our nation and totally cut off from the rest of the world. It is competition and free trade that allows us to have the standard of living that we have today, more the competition, more prosperous the end consumer. We were blessed with natural resources but they would be put to good use if they belonged to us, but they belong to the govt. Get this thing out your head about "ours". The govt is not the people, they are a ruling class and we are their slaves. - If you develop a better understanding of economics, you will understand that a foreign employer or mnc going into third world countries and paying people low wages is not evil, in the absence of that company going in they would have nothing. As long as relationships are voluntary, there is nothing immoral going on. - as far as the security goes, it's not supposed to belong to the government to begin with. It is because we don't have competition in national defense and private defense that we face a tyrannical class of order followers who are enslaving us. Again, yes i have listened to a lot of rajiv dixit and even icke share some similar sentiment, although i understand how they game the system through the world bank imf wto etc, the solutions to these problems are not what you are suggesting, but the total opposite. They have hijacked privatization and free trade and given us a phony version of it, we need real privatization and free trade.
