We may never know what someone around us is going through, or how much they are carrying in silence. But a sincere word, a safe space, or simply knowing that someone understands can make a greater difference than we realize.

SuDRO advances to a powerful new phase in disaster preparedness!
In times of crisis, knowing what to do is simply not enough. We must be ready to act instantly when every single minute matters!
From February to June 2026, the Sustainable Development Response Organization (SuDRO), in partnership with the Sudan ECHO Center of Excellence, successfully delivered Phase I of the:
Disaster Response ECHO Program: “Reimagining Disaster Response in Fragile Settings”
Phase I Achievements at a Glance:
✨ 17 intensive training sessions built to strengthen knowledge and frontline preparedness.
✨ 169 registered participants across frontline healthcare and emergency response sectors.
✨ An average attendance of 90+ participants per session!
A Major Surge in Readiness: The proportion of participants demonstrating high-level readiness skyrocketed from 20% before the program to 77% upon completion!
90% of participants reported feeling fully prepared to apply these lifesaving skills in practice.
Beyond the Screen:
We successfully executed a state-level Disaster Threat-Mapping Exercise, analyzing local hazards and tailoring response plans to the unique needs of each state.
Now, the Next Phase Begins!
We are officially transitioning toward operationalizing Rapid Response Units (RRUs) within our Community Medical Response Teams (CMRTs)—translating learning into swift, practical emergency action!

| 11 | Climate change is not only changing our environment — we are living its impacts.
As extreme heat becomes an increasing challenge, it affects health, livelihoods, and the safety of communities most exposed to it.
This is where climate adaptation matters: understanding climate-related risks and turning awareness into practical action.
In Red Sea State, SuDRO’s heatstroke prevention initiative in Port Sudan brought this approach to the field, raising awareness among port workers and community members about heat-related health risks and prevention.
Climate action is also about building communities ready to face a changing climate.

Health knowledge creates impact when it can be turned into awareness.
On Day 2 of the Health Reach training, 35 volunteers from the Gezira State Team strengthened their knowledge of cholera, dengue fever, and other transmitted diseases, with a focus on prevention, transmission, dehydration, rehydration, and personal hygiene.
The day concluded with a practical exercise, where volunteers transformed their learning into clear, audience-appropriate health messages.
Two days of training. Stronger knowledge. Stronger readiness for the field.
In collaboration with SuDRO – Gezira State Team, G-SNO, and MST-SNO.

في اليوم الثاني من تدريب Health Reach، واصل 35 متطوعًا من فريق الجزيرة بناء معارفهم الطبية حول الكوليرا، وحمى الضنك، وغيرها من الأمراض المنقولة، مع التركيز على طرق انتقالها، وأعراضها، ومضاعفاتها، وسبل الوقاية منها.
كما تناول التدريب تقييم الجفاف وإجراءات الإماهة، إلى جانب ممارسات النظافة الشخصية، لتعزيز جاهزية المتطوعين لتقديم رسائل صحية دقيقة وموثوقة.
وفي ختام اليوم، انتقل المتطوعون من تلقّي المعرفة إلى اختبار قدرتهم على إيصالها، من خلال تقديم رسائل توعوية قصيرة مبنية على ما تعلموه.
وباكتمال يومي التدريب، أصبح لدى الفريق ما يحتاجه للخطوة التالية:
معرفةٌ أعمق، مهاراتٌ أقوى، واستعدادٌ للانتقال إلى الميدان.
