Asdaa' amusement park, located in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, has become a temporary refuge for displaced Palestinians due to the ongoing war. Originally featuring attractions such as a large swimming pool, a small zoo, and a train ride simulating the journey to Jerusalem, the park now shelters hundreds of families who have fled Israeli bombardment and senseless killing of the innocent.

On August 10, 2024, an Israeli airstrike hit the Al-Taba'een school in Gaza City during dawn prayers, killing over 100 people, including women and children, and injuring many others. The school was being used as a shelter for approximately 6,000 displaced Palestinians. The missiles struck without warning, causing massive destruction and leaving many bodies unrecognizable. This is only one of the stories currently circulating of the family members of martyrs left to deal with the aftermath of the massacre.

Fatima Hassan Muhammad Abu Te'im from eastern Khan Yunis is mourning the loss of her family and pleading for help after surviving an Israeli airstrike. During their displacement, a missile struck her, leaving her amidst flames and debris. She suffered severe burns and has lost her son, who was in his final year of university. Fatima is now alone and struggling to cope with her injuries, appealing to the world for medical treatment and support to regain her strength and independence.
