The Last Man Revival

Lord, I let you take over for a while. Do what must be done. Grant me strength and cut down my enemies with your compassion.

If you're weak enough to concede to your enemies, then you are undeserving of strong allies.

Debate is bread and circuses and a practice I rarely engage in except in jest. My positions are largely non-negotiable and those who have not yet come to their own conclusions are beyond my concern. They must find their own path. We recognize that strong borders are instrumental in securing a homeland for our people. Your mind isn't any different. The strict adherence to ordinances, rules, and faith are the borders that protect one's mind, like the land we inhabit, from foreign invasion.

To see men from two opposing sides sharing cigarettes and spirits together before shaking hands and making that lonely trek back across no man's land so they may return to their posts and pick up their rifles is a profound moment that I regret may no longer exist in our day. I am eternally grateful that it ever existed at all. There can be immense beauty buried underneath tragedy. Unfortunately it's only in black and white.

No matter where you go the state will always be in tow. You can run and hide, seek shelter innawoods or go underground, but they will eventually find you and demand their payment in whole. You're their property until you're no longer, whether your contract is terminated by your own death or by the death of the state. Government is the antithesis of autonomy. The so-called safety that is afforded to you by the state in exchange for your freedoms is illusory. Once you've recognized that a lifetime of incarceration or death by the hands of your own government awaits you regardless of your disposition or participation, and that the only thing separating you from extermination or imprisonment are concrete walls, can you unlock your potential as a dissident and truly become dangerous. It's easier to track an army than it is a single man.

I find it difficult to motivate myself to write when everyone and their mother has a pen, and yet all I want is a rifle. I refuse to write if I don't have much to say. My lizard brain craves action, but patience is the course that I've chosen. It's a source of great frustration. Quality is something that I strive towards when writing, but my current situation isn't synonymous with the measure of quality I'd like.
