Our LAWASIA Team attended the conference “Reflecting on UNCITRAL in Korea and the Asia-Pacific”, held on 16 September 2026 at Grand Hyatt Seoul, Republic of Korea, in celebration of UNCITRAL’s 60th Anniversary. The conference was co-hosted by UNCITRAL, the Supreme Court of Korea, the Ministry of Justice of Korea, and KCAB International. The event featured discussions on key developments in international trade law, including international commercial arbitration and mediation, digital trade, dispute resolution, insolvency, and the role of the judiciary in the implementation of UNCITRAL instruments. A valuable opportunity for our students to broaden their understanding of international commercial law and engage with developments shaping the Asia-Pacific region. On the morning of September 14, 2026, H.E. Prof. Dr. Hor Peng, Rector of the National University of Management (NUM), hosted a courtesy visit by Mr. Uy Chhigoby, Member of the UYFC Phnom Penh Committee and a 2018 alumnus of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), and Mr. Sum Sovanndeka, Deputy Head of the UYFC Phnom Penh Secretariat and a 2023 alumnus of LKYSPP. The meeting focused on potential academic collaboration in public policy education. NUM extends its sincere appreciation to UYFC for its valuable support in connecting the NUM School of Public Policy with UYFC’s overseas university partners in policy education.

His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in his capacity as Agent, led the Cambodian delegation. The Thai delegation was led by His Excellency Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, in his capacity as Agent for Thailand. On 8 September 2026, Mr. Din Siden, Director of NUM iLAW, joined a mentoring and discussion session with the winners of the Cambodia Vision 2050 Public Speaking Competition, led by H.E. Pen Bona, Minister Delegate Attached to the Prime Minister and Head of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit.
