For those who came on our Sacred City Walk today, two big pieces of information came to light. John Soane who was the original architect of the bank of england was the official architect of the Grand Lodge of Freemasons and also built their HQ in Holborn. He also had an original Egyptian sarcophagus in his home. The Knights Templar HQ is the Temple Church in the City, and the area called Temple which is the main legal district is named after them. And the craziest bit? His home is a stones throw from the Temple Church, just 10 mins walk. Always learning something new! The Speke monument in Kensington Gardens is an obelisk that sits on the leyline that runs from Lancaster Gate to the Royal Albert Hall. John Speke supposedly “discovered” the Nile and then died suspiciously 6 yrs later.
