It is knowing what suits you the best. And thus being able to be effective and enjoying the process.
While there are tons of books on IELTS, I mainly studied for IELTS through YouTube videos.
Books seemed not to effective because they were mainly theoretical and required more time to filter out the important from the water.
To understand Reading, I worked with google. Those included posts from the all-known IELTSLiz and others.
For Writing, I mainly watched E2’s tutorials (there were some others too)
For Speaking, it wad mainly KeithSpeakingAcademy (on youtube) and others helpful videos.
So, if you are not into working with IELTS books, don’t force yourself to read those.
