UPDATE IN SECUNDERABAD CANTT WEAPONS THRFT CASE: - Retired soldier Mallesh, had two theft cases on record before Joining in the Indian Army. - He is under scrutiny for his recent online activity. - Authorities are examining his interest in firearms-related material and his following of Pakistan-based arms dealer Instagram account. - Investigators have not yet established whether Mallesh communicated or conducted any transactions with that account. Further details are awaited as inquiries continue.

Army JAWAN Mallesh held a grudge against his seniors for “forcing” him into early retirement on June 30 this year. A resident of Mahbubnagar, Mallesh joined the Army in 2010 and served for 16 years before being compulsorily retired over disciplinary and health issues. Army JAWAN Mallesh went around 11 pm on the night of 30 August, and stole arms and ammunition from the Kote room and magazine room of the 20th Battalion Madras Regiment in the Bollarum area of Secunderabad.

Army JAWAN Mallesh held a grudge against his seniors for “forcing” him into early retirement on June 30 this year. A resident of Mahbubnagar, Mallesh joined the Army in 2010 and served for 16 years before being compulsorily retired over disciplinary and health issues.

Mallesh was summoned for questioning but did not appear. Police and state intelligence then explained the seriousness of the case to his wife and father-in-law. While on her way to the police station, his wife called him and questioned him. He told her about the arms. She informed her father, who alerted the police. Bolarum Police, Hyderabad Task Force, Malkajgiri SOT and Telangana State Intelligence tracked him down. The weapons were recovered from locations in Kowkoor, Yapral and Achampet in Nagarkurnool district. Mallesh has been arrested and remanded.

More than 100 people were questioned, while call data records of over 8.5 lakh mobile numbers were analyzed during the investigation.

DEFENCE TECH THEFT CASE: Jaipur: Club First Robotic Pvt Ltd, a deep-tech robotics firm, has alleged that some officials took away LiDAR sensors, UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) components, camera modules, secret codes, and other critical technologies. LiDAR, UGV, and advanced camera systems have applications across defense, drones, surveillance, and autonomous robotics. The case is currently under investigation by the Jaipur Police.

7-MONTH COUNTER ESPIONAGE, A "LOST" IAF OFFICER AND A PAK OPERATIVE. A major counter-espionage operation by Delhi Police Special Cell began in January after an international number linked to a Pakistani intelligence handler came under the radar. According to sources: + The number was intercepted by an intelligence unit and traced to a Pakistani operative targeting an IAF Wing Commander (name withheld). + Delhi Police alerted the IAF. The officer, posted at a field unit under the Western Command, was placed under surveillance. + The officer was allegedly approached through social media while going through a personal crisis. Intimate chats and video calls followed. + The Pakistani handler allegedly recorded the officer during video calls and later blackmailed him. + The officer was allegedly forced to share photographs of his base, documents related to ongoing programmes and research, and information on the movement of aerial units. + The handler allegedly went further: the officer was asked to install remote-access/data-stealing malware on a senior officer’s phone to gain control of the device. + Encrypted messaging apps were allegedly used to transmit sensitive documents and information. + The officer was eventually arrested by Air Force Police and handed over to Delhi Police while allegedly preparing to share further information with the Pakistani handler. The alleged honey trap had evolved into a full-fledged espionage operation. The IAF officer has reportedly not yet applied for bail.
