I’ve always thought very highly of Ukrainians, they’re a strong and down to earth people, but I could never understand why anyone would feel so insanely envious of Ukrainians to the point of hating them. Ukraine has historically been a very poor and oppressed country for a very long time; a country so poor that it was among the countries that sleazy passport bros looking to flex their economic advantage would visit alongside Thailand, Romania and the Philippines. It wasn’t a rich or powerful country to envy like Switzerland, but rather one of the poorest EE countries, which is extremely poor. But still, Ukraine’s incredible resilience against Russian aggression somehow provoked something in certain individuals that’d I’d consider to be spiteful mutants, possessed by Ressentiment.
