Just Because Something Is Logical Does Not Mean It Is True
"Solari Builders: Understanding Money and the Economy with Prof. Richard A. Werner"
By Ricardo Oskam
At the recent gathering in Northern Italy that concluded the Solari Builders pilot course, Professor Richard A. Werner addressed two fundamental questions: What is money? And what problem does money’s existence solve?
Werner, a recurrent guest at Solari, is a German economist who, after training at the London School of Economics and Oxford, spent his formative years in Japan—as the first Shimomura Fellow at the Development Bank of Japan and then as chief economist at the Jardine Fleming investment bank in Tokyo. In the mid-1990s, he coined the term “quantitative easing,” proposing to the Bank of Japan something rather different from what central banks later carried out borrowing the same terminology. Werner’s 2003 book, Princes of the Yen, which described how Japan’s central bankers inflated and then burst a bubble to force through reform, outsold Harry Potter in Japan for six straight weeks.
Before diving into contemporary monetary theory, Werner took the Solari Builders group through one thousand years of history. With the Builders having visited a famous Italian Duomo the day before his presentation—a cathedral that was six centuries in the making—he tackled the question of how some of Europe’s most impressive cathedrals were built. Laborers contributed to structures they knew they would never see completed in their lifetimes, making the cathedrals a true testimonial to a higher culture where one honored God with every brick laid. Today, Werner notes, we would not be able to replicate those buildings at any sane cost, despite having better technology.
Since 1992, Prof. Werner has argued that banks do not pass along existing savings but create money out of thin air—the Credit Creation Theory. Werner used empirical evidence that he painstakingly gathered (rather than rely on axioms or theoretical deductions) to prove his claim to be true and disprove other theories such as the intermediation theory of banking (which claims that banks are just financial intermediaries, both individually and collectively) or the fractional reserve theory of banking (which claims that banks are individually financial intermediaries but collectively create money through fractional reserve banking).
The common thread uniting the historical examples Werner references is the creation of money as an animating force. The stone wheel money of Yap and the split tally stick made of cheap hazelwood (the grain of its split being a unique fingerprint to identify its validity) became money because people accepted them as money. His point, arriving through the back door of history, is that our own money is the same instrument, with the promise thinned out—a claim with no commodity behind it.
The tally stick was also the original accounting method: charge on one side, discharge on the other, cash recorded as it moves, checked afterwards against the counter-rolls kept in the Treasury, making it hard to lie. Double-entry accounting came later, and in Werner’s reading of it, represented not an advance in transparency but a smokescreen. Interest was illegal in Christian Europe, and the goldsmith-bankers had more than interest to hide: they were lending out gold left in their care and writing deposit certificates for gold nobody had deposited.
To truly understand the economy, we must understand what money is and how its successful use is intertwined with our governance system and a healthy culture that supports a fundamental level of trust. Will the rapid influx of newly created money in our economy facilitate borrowing for productive purposes—leading to growth without inflation—or will it further raise consumer prices and spawn asset bubbles?

| 2 | What Happens When Cash Disappears?
Cash is easy to take for granted because, for most of us, it is still there when we need it. We can choose to pay with a card, use our phone, or take out a few notes and coins.
But if cash disappears, that choice disappears with it.
A fully digital payment system means relying on banks, payment networks, electricity, internet connections and the devices that connect us to them. Most of the time, that works perfectly well. But when those systems fail or become unavailable, having a physical form of money gives people another way to transact.
Cash also provides a level of privacy that digital payments cannot. A cash transaction does not create the same digital record as a card or online payment, and it allows people to exchange money directly without relying on a payment platform to process the transaction.
There is also a local dimension to this. When we continue to use cash, particularly with independent shops, markets and other local businesses, we help keep cash circulating within our communities.
None of this means we have to stop using digital payments. They are convenient and useful. The point is that cash and digital payments can coexist, and keeping both available gives us greater choice and resilience.
Once cash is gone, we cannot simply decide we would like it back. That is why keeping cash in circulation matters.
Our quarterly cash campaign begins now: https://solari.com/cash-freedom-2026/

| 4 | If You Want to Help Yourself with Simple Means, What Is Simpler than Your Own Voice?
By Ulrike Granögger
When I went to the 2024 Water Conference (which turned out to be the last Water Conference in a magnificent series of events since 2006) to present on the Wave Genome, one of the most memorable speakers was Githa Ben-David from Denmark. She came with her co-worker Merete Vestergaard and the Israeli filmmaker Tsipi Raz and spoke about the unique healing power of your own voice. At the end of her presentation, she showed a short clip from an upcoming documentary that blew everybody’s mind. The footage (part of which is also included in this Solari interview) shows a medical miracle where a tumor recedes in a matter of minutes in what appears to be a response to the mere influence of vocal sound. What an extraordinary intuition and scientific daring for conference organizer Professor Gerald Pollack to invite her as a speaker.
Githa and I have since become friends, and I am inspired to introduce her work to the Solari community as a prime instrument of self-help and liberation on several levels all at once. For the Note from Heaven is not first and foremost about “healing” (and to be clear: nothing in this interview should be regarded as medical advice, its content is meant to serve educational purposes only) but about “knowing thyself”! It is about finding your own frequency and accessing your own authenticity—and that can ultimately lead to opening the body’s ability to heal itself.
Githa discovered that which she calls the Note from Heaven when she learned classical raga singing in Varanasi, India, as taught by the late Mangala Tiwari, a highly esteemed classical Indian singer from the “House of Benares” and representative of the Khyal style of vocalization. Tiwari instructed Githa to sing one note for an hour, an exercise that provoked resistance at first. “Why sing just one note?” A while into the exercise, however, the note changed, the voice became rich with overtones that echoed from all sides despite singing alone—the note from heaven had arrived!
Githa writes in The Ultimate Book on Vocal Sound Healing (p. 5):
“The Note from Heaven is the tonal expression of a divine state that we all have within us and we can all contact. When you experience the Note from Heaven, the note seems to sing you, rather than you singing it.”
The Note from Heaven is your own characteristic frequency. Don’t expect it to be a specific number of cycles per second (Hz). That would be simplistic. Rather, it is that which sings inside of you, continually singing “yes” to life and “yes” to yourself. Githa writes (p. 454):
“We are each born with our own fundamental frequency. It doesn’t pay to try to change your fundamental frequency in order to adapt to your surroundings. Your fundamental frequency is you. If you run away from it, you lose yourself. The prerequisite for meeting true resonance in another person is that you completely uphold your own sound.”
When have you last listened to your own voice? Consciously, and with interest? In a world that is numbed by an ever-increasing “shriek-o-meter” and scrambled with constant distortive and manipulative EMFs, getting in touch with your own voice is the simplest and most direct way to clarity and self-knowledge. From this perspective, Githa says (p. 5), “The Note from Heaven is not in itself the goal. Its function is to free the voice, and through that to expand consciousness.”
In her discovery of the Note from Heaven, Githa realized that there are many more features of the inherent power of our own voices, and this journey has brought forth new tools of well-being, healing, and self-realization. Not only overtones, but also undertones (subharmonics) can be utilized to access parts of the body and the anatomy of the soul.

"2nd Quarter 2026 Wrap Up: Equity Overview & Rambus Chartology with Tim Caban"
Financial planner Tim Caban and I present the Equity Overview & Rambus Chartology for the 2nd Quarter 2026 Wrap Up.
We start by posing a strategic question: “Which is more important to you—the current value of your assets, or whether those assets will continue to be yours?” This is a question that every one of us needs to deeply consider.
Tim and I then take a look at this quarter’s Rambus Chartology and what it tells us about market valuations. Special thanks to Rambus for the wealth of charts and technical analysis he provides each quarter. If you are following the stock and commodities markets, we recommend this special quarterly piece as well as his excellent website.
We also take note of recent remarks by Jeremy Grantham about historical bubbles. Noting that “Profit margins are probably the most mean-reverting series in finance, and if profit margins do not mean-revert, then something has gone badly wrong with capitalism,” Grantham warns, “Every great bubble in history has broken—there are no exceptions.”
Grantham is right; however, the financial tools now gathering with distributed ledger technology to extend the current bubble are formidable. We have been covering and documenting these extensively at the Solari Report this year. This is one of many reasons you want to make sure to read the Wrap Up on Programmable Money we just published in PDF form. (We will be mailing hard copies to Print + Digital subscribers after Labor Day.)
“Perpetual war” is front and center in our discussion of current trends. To bolster the dollar system, the U.S. is leading an effort to control energy supplies worldwide, no matter the harm to the global economy. In the push to shift global citizenry into the dollar system and the U.S. stock and bond markets, the U.S. fiscal machine is unleashing a tsunami of stimulus that is benefiting defense and control grid stocks and facilitating more plunder. Tim and I look at the dollar system (does the U.S. dollar remain dominant but dangerous?), sectors (such as value vs. momentum and small/midcap vs. large cap), and the private equity/private credit implosion and its impact on the insurance industry.
Finally, we review allocation choices and options. With the various steps Mr. Global is taking to implement programmable money and assets and to use programmability as an instrument of surveillance and social control, we believe it is more essential than ever to withdraw support from the control grid (see Coming Clean). How do you know where the money in your 401(k), IRA, and savings is really going? We discuss steps you can take.
We also continue to emphasize the importance of steadily increasing your personal and household resilience, of prioritizing analog and responsible digital technologies, as well as getting legislative consumer protections in place. As the Solari team works to revise and launch updated model legislation, we invite you to join in—there is much opportunity in the next round of state legislative sessions after the midterm elections.

"Understanding Inflation: What’s Next? with Carlos Alegría and Ed Dowd"
By Catherine Austin Fitts
What is inflation? There are different definitions and the term is used differently—ranging from describing monetary inflation to the increase in the cost of goods.
What causes inflation? How do we measure it? What do the available data say about the inflation we are experiencing? And what can we expect in the foreseeable future?
Returning guests Carlos Alegría and Ed Dowd of Phinance Technologies have produced an in-depth report on inflation in the U.S. In this interview, they walk us through their research, highlighting many invaluable data-driven insights.
This is a unique deep dive on current inflation, including the shocking levels of medical inflation. It does an excellent job of preventing you from translating short-term shocks into long-term trends and helping you understand how to track the components that drive inflation.

"Lunacy Threatens 401(k) and Index Fund Regulation with Tiffany Cianci"
The digital control grid has an unending appetite for your capital. Building the systems that enable surveillance, biometric digital IDs, and programmable money—and the data centers and AI that hold and process the data needed to make these systems go—takes trillions of dollars. Every time we turn around, there is another attempt to siphon off our savings, not only to finance the control grid’s build-out but to help buy up and consolidate ownership and control of our businesses. In short, Mr. Global is pursuing his goals with our money—our tax dollars, our federal credit, and our retirement savings.
Returning guest Tiffany Cianci has a passion for tracking the manipulation of our savings. She has been a leader in warning the public about the shenanigans of the private equity industry, as described in our prior interviews about private equity and private credit. Now she is sounding the alarm about the efforts—well underway—to compromise the governance of our 401(k)s in a manner that could lead to inappropriate access by alternative investments, including crypto, private equity, and hedge funds.
If you or your loved ones have retirement savings, you will not want to miss this conversation, as Tiffany and I discuss what is happening with 401(k)s and consider some of the other meltdowns in our financial regulation and standards.

| 12 | Stand Up Against What’s Coming—Things Are Not Hopeless
Mr. Global in Your Street: Local Politics and Money Are the Last Line of Defense with Elze van Hamelen
Daunted by the scale of corruption, the opaqueness of state bureaucracies, the immobility and unresponsiveness of democratic systems, and the lack of fairness, truth, and justice in government operations, many in the freedom movement have understandably but unwisely decided to opt out of dealing with government affairs.
Meanwhile, a policy deluge, originating in part from UN treaties, is trickling down into every level of government and other societal institutions. The policies are being implemented by nations, states, counties, cities, and so-called “regions,” while Hollywood, the media, and school curricula (from kindergartens to universities) promote related narratives.
These policies are having real-world impacts bankrupting entrepreneurs, moving farmers off the land and fishermen off the sea, and turning public spaces into 15-minute-city panopticons. In short, as Dutch consultant-researcher and returning Solari guest Elze van Hamelen documents, “Mr. Global’s chickens are coming home to roost in your hometown.”
However, as Elze explains in this week’s interview, therein also lies our hope. The local level is where what is left of democracy works best, and it is where you have a chance of achieving real impact and influence. Elze’s prior research and contributions on topics such as food, farming, energy, and mind control have helped her understand that facing the local front of the Omniwar head-on is not only important but is a great antidote against the “hopelessness op.”
Elze wrote her new blockbuster report, Mr. Global in Your Street: Local Politics and Money Are the Last Line of Defense, to help you recognize the build-out of the control grid in your locality and to provide you with a practical and strategic manual for pushback. In this conversation, we go through a number of examples of everyday people who took responsibility by focusing on effective action within their own spheres of influence. Working with others who share a vision of living a free and inspired life—and a mission of doing everything in their power to achieve it—is a wonderful way to “find your tribe,” rebuild the culture, and have impact along the way.

| 13 | Turtling for Cash Part II (Full Interview)
At the close of 2025, it was a no-brainer to select intrepid cash warrior and “Team Cash” leader Susan Luschas as our Hero of the Year. Susan’s persistence and creativity on behalf of physical cash (delightfully communicated in our May 2025 “Turtling for Cash” interview) have inspired many in the Solari audience to step up their own use and promotion of cash.
In this week’s “Part II” interview, Susan returns to update us on her latest cash-related efforts in South Dakota. She starts by explaining what happened after she helped get a 2025 bill passed—by one vote—that requires cash acceptance at school-affiliated sporting and other events. When parents started contacting Susan to tell her that some schools were continuing to refuse cash, Susan learned that passage of a law does not guarantee that the law will be followed or enforced. Undaunted, Susan sent follow-up emails to school administrators to let them know they were in violation of state law—and, in the case of one particularly recalcitrant school, politely threatened negative publicity and a follow-up enforcement bill. As a result, all of the schools started complying with the law.
Susan also describes how taking local action on other issues of concern to South Dakotans—such as the siting of cell towers and data centers—has served as a way to grow the constituency for cash, as people start connecting the wider dots about financial transaction freedom. At a time when Mr. Global is trying to build a freedom-throttling “three-lock” transaction system that allows surveillance and interference by outside parties, Susan shows that transacting with physical cash is not only a powerful and satisfying form of pushback, but one that is fun!
I should note that this interview took place on the eve of primary elections for the South Dakota state legislature. Thanks to an effective ground game in which Susan and her husband, Manuel Luschas, knocked on 2,000 doors, Manuel won the primary for House District 2.

"Young Builders: Modern Motherhood: Navigating Pregnancy, Parenting, and Trust with Jessica Bell"
By Ricardo Oskam
Of all the journeys a family can undertake, few rival the weight of bringing a child into the world. The decisions made in those earliest years—what a baby eats, who surrounds them, what stories are told around the dinner table—shape a human being in ways the parents themselves may not understand until decades later. And yet this is the journey for which young parents are given the least reliable guidance.
The institutional voices are loud and confident—eager to tell young mothers and fathers exactly what to do. What is in short supply are mentors who have walked the path with integrity and emerged with both wisdom and grace.
This is why I was grateful to have Jessica Bell join Vanessa Harlander and me for this episode of the Young Builders Series. Jessica’s work runs through every layer of what we are trying to teach: faith, health, food, family, community, finance, and the patient daily practice of building a life that compounds. The “arrows” we are raising are not theoretical. They are sitting at our dinner tables right now.
Based in Tennessee, Jessica is the co-founder of reVessel (a non-toxic sustainable foodware company); a director of the Health and Food Freedom Network; a former chapter leader for Children’s Health Defense in Tennessee; and the founder of Mentor Moms. She and her husband also own a regenerative farm, where they have spent four difficult years developing the infrastructure to grow food for their family and community. Jurisdiction matters, as Catherine reminds us—and Jessica’s family has lived that lesson in full.
Jessica’s perspective is forged from lived experience. Over a decade ago, after watching her mother-in-law decline rapidly from ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Jessica confronted her own cascade of autoimmune symptoms while raising young children. She rebuilt her health through nutrient-dense food, fasting, meditation, circadian rhythm support, and the systematic reduction of environmental exposures. She then turned herself into a vessel for healing others through her Mentor Moms initiative, the heart of Jessica’s work.
New mothers are propagandized before they ever become pregnant. In Jessica’s view, the antidote is not to do battle with the old system but to patiently construct a new one—guided by mentors and peerswho have already walked the path. She says that even if something seems hard, we can make better choices. Marriage is hard, but so is divorce. Eating well is hard, but so is being sick.
In the considerable ground covered in our discussion, Jessica also addresses the financial dimensions of raising sovereign children, keeping kids off screens, the case for homeschooling, and how “following the money” can bring transparency to some of the most important early choices parents make in a child’s life. God bless the mothers.
